Peacock's 'The Traitors' Renewed For Season 2 With Andy Cohen-Hosted Reunion Special On The Way

Alan Cumming will return in "The Traitors" Season 2. Luckily, that's not all there is for fans of the reality show to look forward to.

The Peacock original series “The Traitors” isn’t done yet. Not only is a Season 1 reunion special on the way, but the streamer has officially picked up the show for Season 2.

Alan Cumming will return with an all-new crop of contestants, some of whom will be selected to be the titular “Traitors.” This means they'll work secretly on their own team trying to get the others to eliminate non-traitors, known on the show as “The Faithful.”

In addition, "The Hollywood Reporter" notes that Andy Cohen will host a reunion special that will bring back key contestants from Season 1 to hash out how things are between them now that all the secrets are out and the backstabbing is done.

“‘The Traitors’ is an ambitious, highly addictive and spontaneous format that keeps contestants and viewers on their toes,” said Corie Henson, executive VP entertainment unscripted Content at NBCUniversal. “Alan Cumming is a well-dressed genius, the producers at Studio Lambert are brilliant storytellers and the show is the perfect mix of drama and suspense to keep our traitors and faithfuls craving more.”

For those still somehow unfamiliar, “The Traitors” brought together a mix of first-time reality competition players as well as familiar faces from shows like “Big Brother” and “The Bachelor” for a game based on a Dutch format that sees three traitors scheme and conspire to “murder” faithful each night. The group of 20 contestants woke up each morning to the reveal of who the traitors “killed” in the night and then voted at the end of the day to banish players they believed were working against them.

During the day, they worked as a team in “missions” designed to increase their overall prize pool. Unlike other reality shows with a turncoat gimmick, there is no incentive for the traitors to sabotage the prize pot because, if one or more of them are left standing at the end of the game, they take home the money and leave the remaining faithful penniless.

There is no set release date for “The Traitors” Season 2 nor is there any information on who Cumming will invite to his glorious Scottish castle this time around.

People can catch up on “The Traitors” and tune into similar shows like “Snake In The Grass” on Peacock right now.

"The Traitors" reunion special hosted by Andy Cohen premieres on Peacock on Feb. 28.
