Peacock Promises Betrayal & Alan Cumming's Best Highland Wardrobe In 'The Traitors' Trailer
Check out mystery, deception, and adventure in the trailer for Peacock’s new thriller competition series “The Traitors.”
Some of the biggest reality television stars will find themselves in a psychological adventure where lies and deceit are the rules in the new Peacock competition series “The Traitors.” And we now have an in-depth look at the drama with a brand new trailer.
In a remote castle in the Scottish highlands, contestants are pitted against one another in a series of challenges to figure out who are "The Faithful" and who are "The Traitors," the select few contestants working to sabotage their fellow players. The series — hosted by Alan Cumming — stars 20 cast members, 10 of whom are celebrities who may look familiar because they have appeared on other reality television shows, including USA Network's "Snake In The Grass." From "Big Brother" to "Survivor" and "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" to name a few, they will bring their own brands of backstabbing and shade to the game.
In the newly released trailer for “The Traitors,” there’s a glimpse of the challenges the contestants will go through, including one where some of the cast are buried alive in this murder mystery to die for.
"You will need the strength of a liar and the stealth of a fox," Alan Cumming tells the contestants before later adding, "In this game, the person sitting next to you may smile and smile … and be a villain."
The list of A-list celebrities playing the game include Arie Luyendyk Jr. ("Bachelor/Bachelorette") , Brandi Glanville ("The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills"), Cirie Fields ("Survivor") , Cody Calafiore ("Big Brother") , Kate Chastain ("Below Deck") , Kyle Cooke ("Summer House") , Rachel Reilly ("Big Brother") , Reza Farahan ("Shahs of Sunset") Ryan Lochte (Olympian) , and Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick ("Survivor") . These stars will be joined by 10 other contestants who, while less experienced in gameplay, will join in on the web of lies and deceit to win the cash prize of up to $250,000.
“Studio Lambert has truly captured lightning in a bottle with our latest competition series 'The Traitors.' We can’t wait for Peacock audiences to experience and play along in this epic game of manipulation and deceit, all while the iconic Alan Cumming pulls the strings of our incredible cast to create the ultimate ‘whodunit,'" Corie Henson, EVP Entertainment Unscripted Content, NBCUniversal, said via a press release.
All 10 episodes of "The Traitors" premiere on Peacock on Jan. 12.
