Who Is Gabriel Macht’s Family? Everything to Know About His Parents, Stephen and Suzanne

The Suits star recently posted a special tribute to his parents.

Gabriel Macht’s parents have a true storybook romance.

Stephen Macht, an actor, and Suzanne Pulier, a museum curator, wed while they were in their early 20s, while Stephen was a theater student in London. They raised four children and have been together for six decades, all while pursuing their passions — the definition of relationship goals.

Despite their ties to Hollywood — including Gabriel's long-running part as Harvey Specter on USA Network's Suits — the tight-knit family prioritizes their privacy, so it was especially sweet when Gabriel recently paid tribute to his parents’ for their 61st wedding anniversary in a personal post on Instagram.

The actor, who reprised his role as lawyer Harvey Specter on the NBC spinoff Suits LA, featured two side-by-side photos of his parents: one recent snapshot and another from their wedding day, which was dated "Aug. 30, 2022" on the post, likely the date that he first posted the photo on the site. Gabriel joked in the caption, “1964 not 2022….unless they aged 61 ‘body’ years in just 3 ‘real’ years.”

Gabriel labeled the photos, "61 Years - well done - love you both!"

The 49-year-old actor has shouted out his parents on social media many times through the years. From their romance and careers, here's everything to know about the charming couple.

Stephen Macht starred opposite his son Gabriel on Suits

If Gabriel's dad Stephen, 84, looks familiar to Suits fans, that's because he portrayed Henry Gerard, a legal ethics professor at Harvard Law School, in six episodes of the USA Network hit show.

Whether the two characters were clashing or collaborating, there was no denying their onscreen chemistry. “Because we are real-life father and son, we share an edgy, raw emotional honesty that drives our scenes. And that's just plain fun!” Stephen told The Hollywood Reporter in 2014.

As one of the few characters who knew that lawyer Mike Ross didn't have a law degree, Gerard played a crucial role in keeping his secret.

Stephen Macht was all over our TVs in the 1980s

A former drama professor at Queens College and Smith College, Stephen left academia in the 1970s to pursue an acting career and hit his stride in a big way by the ‘80s. He appeared as a recurring guest star on shows like Cagney & Lacey, Knots Landing, and General Hospital before transitioning to drama and horror. His memorable role as an evil mill owner in Graveyard Shift, adapted from a Stephen King short story, sent shivers down spines.

He also has dozens of stage credits under his belt, perhaps most notably as Proctor in The Crucible, and as Henry VIII opposite the legendary Charlton Heston in A Man for All Seasons.

Stephen Macht Suzanne Pulier

Suzanne Pulier is a prominent figure in the art world

Creativity runs in the family, with Pulier, 81, having made waves in the field of art curation. As a prominent archivist and museum curator, she has organized exhibitions that showcase a wide range of artists and historical periods, from old masters to emerging talents — all while balancing a busy family life.

On her 75th birthday in 2018, Gabriel described his mom in an Instagram post as the “connective tissue” that keeps the family together. “She is the heart, soul, and steady rock to all pictured and many more,” he wrote. Bonus: in the gallery of photos, the actor included an adorable throwback shot of himself sporting a ‘70s “bowl” haircut.

Where were Stephen Macht and Suzanne Pulier married?

When Stephen learned that his mother was losing her battle with breast cancer, he changed the location of his wedding to the hospital ward, according to an interview with the Jewish Journal. Dedication to family has always been a priority for the couple, who have passed those values down to Gabriel and his three siblings, Ari Serbin Macht, Julie Macht, and musician Jesse Macht.

Gabriel is a self-described family man who met his wife, actress Jacinda Barrett, on a blind date and never looked back. “My relationships with my wife and my kids are my priorities,” he told Woman’s Day in 2016. “And I have the upmost confidence in my love for my family and I prioritize that.”

All nine seasons of Suits are currently streaming on Peacock.
