Can You Stay At The Scottish Highlands Castle In ‘The Traitors?'

It's the gloomy set of a treacherous game of lies and deceit, "The Traitors," but can you take your turn and stay at the castle in the Scottish Highlands?

By Shameika Rhymes

A Scottish Highlands castle swirling in gloom, doom and fog, serves as the backdrop for the Peacock competition series “The Traitors.” The series includes several reality television stars that are already used to playing the game of shade, they now have to add deceit, chaos and mayhem to their repertoire as they plot and slink through the shadows of the Ardross Castle

But can everyday civilians stay at Ardross Castle? Here’s the answer to some of your burning questions about the place where Alan Cumming hosts Peacock's “The Traitors."

Where Is Ardross Castle?

The castle is  located on the banks of the River Alness just north of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. The 19th-century castle features elaborate gardens and more than 100 acres of parkland. “The Traitors” star Brandi Glanville recently shared with USA Insider what the Scottish castle was really like.

“The castle was amazing, obviously. It was so visually beautiful; you're in the middle of these like green fields and everything. Being in this beautiful remote area where you see sheep and peacocks screaming at us constantly, it was just stunning visually," she said.

Can You Stay At Ardross Castle?

Unfortunately, the general public cannot just visit the venue since it is privately owned. But, you can stay at the Ardross Castle if you are renting it for an event, such as a wedding, corporate retreat or a private event. The castle has more than 30 rooms for overnight stays and can cater up to 120 guests for weddings.

What Are The Rooms Like At Ardross Castle?

The castle has a variety of accommodations. There is a Stable Block that is a renovated Victorian sandstone building that originally housed estate horses and staff. It has 9 bedrooms with a large, open-plan living area as well as a nursery in one wing. Up to 18 people can stay in the Stable Block. There’s a Rose Cottage for eight people that has no internet access, so you can’t do it for the ‘gram while you are staying there. Buckingham Cottage is for two people, perhaps newlyweds, because it offers privacy that the other accommodations don’t.

What Is There To Do At Ardross Castle?

The scenery is picturesque. In addition to taking in all of the greenery, you can recreate your own game of “The Traitors” as a team-building event. Guests can also go salmon and trout fishing, ride mountain bikes, take guided walks, attend a whiskey tasting, play tennis or volleyball. You can also arrange a tour of some of the other castles in the area like Dunrobin, Cawdor and Eilean Donan.

Continue taking in the scenic 19th century Scottish Highlands castle while watching all ten episodes of “The Traitors” streaming on Peacock right now.
