Those who tuned into Peacock’s “The Traitors” know there was one contestant who played the game pretty much perfectly and ended up with one of the most impressive (and downright savage) finishes in game show history. Now, that person is sharing their winning strategy with USA Insider.

[SPOILER ALERT]

In the finale of “The Traitors,” it all came down to two Faithfuls and two Traitors after Cirie Fields, who had been a Traitor from the start, methodically worked to eliminate both her allies and her competition. In a stunning move, she voted to give fellow final Traitor Arie Luyendyk Jr. the boot, leaving her the sole winner of “The Traitors,” Season 1

Speaking to USAInsider, Fields explained that, although she made it look easy on screen, there was a moment where she thought she might have been found out by one of the Bravolebrities in the castle.

“When Brandi [Glanville] said my name, that’s the only point that I was like, ‘Uh oh,’” she explained. “I kind of knew the Bravo people were onto me. For some reason, the Bravolebrities are like, ‘Yep, she’s a Traitor.’”

She explained she felt the situation was out of her control and feared people would go into their individual rooms and start questioning her status as a Faithful while there was nothing she could do to prevent those seeds of doubt from growing. Fortunately, her gameplay pulled her out of that hole and gave the Traitors an opportunity to give Brandi the axe, swiftly silencing the one and only dissenting voice against her in the game.

However, it taught Cirie a lesson early on — don’t be on anyone’s radar.

“I stayed invisible. I didn’t want to be seen,” she said of her long-term strategy. “I didn’t come up with any cockamamie stories about anything at the last minute. That’s what I wanted, I wanted to be so far under the radar that you can't see me. I didn’t get involved in any of the drama, I didn’t make or create any of the drama.”

Cirie said that staying invisible is her advice to anyone who hopes to enter “The Traitors” in future seasons. Luckily for aspiring players, her list of advice does not end there.

“I would say make friends with everybody as soon as you hit the ground, try to make some friends because ultimately what you want to do is befriend and align yourself with the person that is most trusted by the group,” she said.

She previously noted that her friendship with Andie Thurmond, who she ultimately had to betray in the finale, helped shield her from a lot of suspicions throughout the game.

“Make as many friends as you can, but while growing those friendships, if someone seems to be more popular, liked, and trusted, try to align with that person,” Fields concluded.

You can see all of Cirie’s cunning gameplay on Season 1 of “The Traitors” now streaming on Peacock. And check out the Season 1 reunion special hosted by Andy Cohen when it premieres on Feb. 28.
