'Love For The Ages,' 'MILF Manor' & More: Reality Dating Shows That Celebrate Couples Of All Ages

Finding love is not just for people in their 20s. Check out these reality dating shows with couples of all ages.

By Tyler McCarthy

When people think of romantic reality TV shows, they likely think about sexy young people trying to find love in their early 20s and figure out what kind of partner they want long-term. However, a very small handful of shows in this genre go against the grain and opt to showcase people of all ages and their quest for partnership.

Typically, shows like “Love Island” and “Temptation Island” attract people who are still figuring themselves out and looking for what they need heading into their late 30s. They’re not yet ready to settle down fully, but they see it on the horizon. However, if you’re tired of seeing young people who may not know what they're doing falling in and out of love, perhaps you’d like to try these reality shows where mature relationship woes are on full display.

'Love For The Ages'

Peacock’s latest show, “Love For The Ages,” is a great way to bridge the gap between a younger crowd and a slightly older crowd

The show takes three married couples in their 30s and separates them by gender into houses where sexy younger singles in their 20s are on hand to tempt them into something new. Obviously, it has all the partying that comes with a gorgeous setting, free-flowing booze, and the ultimate hall pass from one’s spouse. However, it also forces the group to dive deep into their emotions and figure out if the marriage they’re in is really what’s right for them as they push 40.

'Dating Around'

This Netflix original series ran for two seasons and put a very different spin on the classic reality dating show. Gone are the hidden cameras and the dramatic twists and turns that are typical of average dating shows. Instead, this one opts for a much more human approach by showcasing the different connections people can have in a more controlled setting.

The premise is simple: One person goes on the same blind date with five different people. However, less it feels like a gimmick, the person wears the same clothes, they go to the same places, and do everything they can to make the only difference between each date be the potential partner. The person doesn't unpack how they're feeling directly to the camera or anything like that, and all the dates are cut together so it seems like one long date where different people are coming in and out.

It also boasts one of the most diverse casts in reality television. There are LGBTQ+ pairings as well as people of all ages shooting their shot to see if they have chemistry, all the while allowing the audience to see what different chemistry between different people looks like in real-time.

Some dates end very early, while others go all the way to that infamous kiss at the front door at the end of the night.

'MILF Manor'

TLC recently announced its perplexing new series that’s got the world captivated, “MILF Manor.”

The show is nothing if not a celebration of older women who are looking for love. Each woman finds herself single after long marriages in which they dedicated themselves to building a family. For whatever reason, those marriages have since ended and they find themselves single once again after many years.

Each woman proves that not only are they still ready to experience the various zests of life, but they aren’t afraid to settle down once again, only this time with a younger man. According to the trailer for the show, though, it seems there’s a surprise in store for them when it comes to the crop of single men brought there to vie for their affection. Regardless of what that twist is (even if we can guess), the show itself will be perfect for those looking to see how the more mature crowd handles dating.
