Kassy and Johnnie Could Make Love Island USA History with the Next Recoupling
Two Islanders may make Love Island USA history by being the first same-sex couple on the show.
In a first for Love Island USA, two Islanders are shaking up the format by following their obvious attraction to each other at a time when both of their feelings for the respective men in the villa are in a state of flux.
Over the weekend, Kassy and Johnnie realized that their jokes about being attracted to each other (based largely on the fact that they look quite similar) were not just jokes after all. During a quiet moment in the villa, the flirtation turned real and they both admitted how turned on they were by each other. For Johnnie, who is openly bisexual, that wasn’t anything particularly new. However, being attracted to a woman to the point of shaking up the Love Island USA structure and pursuing a relationship is brand new for Kassy.

Still, now is the time for Kassy to be open to new things. Following Casa Amor, she learned that the guy she had feelings for, Leonardo, had sex with Johnnie while she was away. Since then, she’s been fighting her desire to take him back while also trying to feel things out with Matia and new bombshell Scott. So, she was adrift in the villa with no real connections brewing beyond the guy who scorned her.
Meanwhile, Johnnie was similarly uncoupled having pretty much broken things off with Leonardo. Sure Mati professed his interest in her and Zay is also an option, but nothing has felt concrete so far. That is until she had her absolutely romantic and bubbly moment with Kassy in Soul Ties. For a person who has been stuck in a glut of heavy drama since coming to the island, America got to see a playful side of Johnnie that she credits Kassy with bringing out of her.
Now, as the Islanders face yet another recoupling, will Kassy and Johnnie decide to make Love Island USA history by being the first same-sex couple? Fans will simply have to tune in to the remainder of the recoupling this week to find out what each of them chooses.
