Well, look at that: the WWE Universe is about to experience another world-class Premium Live Event.

How to Watch

Watch Monday Night RAW every Monday evening at 8/7c on USA Network. Stream more exciting WWE series on Peacock.

Backlash France is taking place on Saturday, giving fans worldwide another chance to see their favorite WWE Superstars compete on a global stage for the first time since April's WrestleMania from Philadelphia. The event is slated to showcase the first title defenses for three new champions crowned over WrestleMania weekend, including Damian Priest stepping into the ring for his first official defense: but

WWE has announced five WrestleMania-worthy matches that feature most of the promotion's top championships being contested. After all, Backlash France will officially be the first WWE Premium Live Event to occur in the country – so it only makes sense that the company is pulling out all the stops to impress the international WWE Universe.

Here is the official match listing for Saturday's must-see event!

Cody Rhodes vs. AJ Styles: Undisputed WWE Championship Match

Cody Rhodes wrestles Roman Reigns for Undisputed WWE Universal Title Match during WrestleMania Goes Hollywood

By now, even the most casual members of the WWE Universe are fully aware that Cody Rhodes defied the odds, overcame adversity, and finally finished his story at WrestleMania when he did what many felt was impossible: defeating Roman Reigns. Now, as the new Undisputed WWE Champion, The American Nightmare is faced with his first high-profile title defense against a man no stranger to the championship: AJ Styles.

After defeating LA Knight to become the number one contender (effectively erasing his WrestleMania loss to Knight in the process), AJ Styles became an immediate threat to Cody's title reign. He's a two-time WWE Champion who returned from a recent injury hiatus in the best physical shape of his career – while losing zero of the agility and high-flying prowess that's become The Phenomenal One's trademark.

While we don't expect Cody Rhodes' storybook to be slammed shut at Backlash France, if anyone can steal the Undisputed WWE Title away from The American Nightmare so soon after he won it, it's AJ Styles.

Damian Priest vs. Jey Uso World Heavyweight Championship Match

Damien Priest in the ring

Damian Priest shocked the world when he chose to cash in his fabled Money in the Bank contract against an injured Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania – a Drew McIntyre who, only moments earlier, had shocked the world in his own right by defeating Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title. Since he captured the championship, Damian Priest hasn't defended it – a far cry from the workhorse-like schedule of title defenses that characterized Seth Rollins' run.

But Jey Uso, who defeated his brother Jimmy at WrestleMania, has been climbing up the ranks on Monday Night Raw in recent months. Once the bell rings on Saturday, he'll be given the opportunity of a lifetime: a crack at a championship that – in the eyes of many fans – is just as prestigious as the Undisputed WWE Title.

The two Superstars' war of words reached a fever pitch on the April 29 episode of Raw, and at Backlash France, Damian and Jey will stop talking. In our eyes, this matchup is the definition of a coin flip – while we don't expect the new champion to fall so quickly after winning the championship, Jey Uso – powered by the Yeet Movement – has all the momentum in the world and with cracks in The Judgment Day showing more and more by the day, fans could be looking at a title change in France.

Bayley vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Naomi: WWE Women's Championship Triple Threat Match

Bayley smiling as she stands in the ring

The WWE women's locker room has never been more star-studded, and it's a testament to the talent on the SmackDown roster that Bayley will be defending the WWE Women's World Title in a Triple Threat match.

Tiffany Stratton, recently called up from dominating NXT, has shown flashes of brilliance in her brief time on WWE's main roster. She's enjoyed a groundswell of support from the WWE Universe thanks to her fantastic in-ring ability – will it be Tiffy Time at Backlash France? We'd generally say yes, but then we remember Naomi is the third participant in the match.

In recent weeks, Naomi and Tiffany have been at odds with each other, cultivating an unexpected rivalry that fans have absolutely loved. As a former women's champion, Naomi has all the skills to win the title again. In our eyes, Bayley is the underdog in this match (but don't tell her we said that).

Remember, Bayley doesn't have to be involved in the finish to lose her title, making this a dangerous match to be a part of as champion.

Randy Orton & Kevin Owens vs. Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga

Close up of Randy Orton

The saga of The Bloodline continues to roll on despite the absence of Roman Reigns. Yet, the combination of Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga may be the most destructive combination of wrestlers since Roman and The Rock teamed up at WrestleMania 40. Tama Tonga burst onto the scene after spending his entire career in Japan, and he's shown his brothers in The Bloodline that sometimes, brute force is the easiest way to get the job done. At Backlash France, the WWE Universe will see Tama compete in the ring for the first time – and if his time in Japan is any indication, fans will be blown away by what kind of physicality he's capable of.

Of course, the team of Randy Orton and Kevin Owens is no slouch, either. Both are upper-level WWE Superstars that have rarely seen eye-to-eye, but it looks like both will be putting their differences aside for the greater good: getting one over on The Bloodline.

The Kabuki Warriors vs. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill: WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match

Jade Cargill

We've pegged Jade Cargill as the future of the WWE women's division for some time now, and it looks like Bianca Belair has joined that line of thinking. The two women will team up to challenge The Kabuki Warriors – Asuka and Kairi Sane – for the Women's Tag Team Titles in a match that will prove to be the biggest in Jade's still-burgeoning career.

Don't get us wrong, Asuka and Kairi have been great champions and have been pillars of the women's division, but they're about to run into a buzzsaw in the form of possibly the greatest female tag team in WWE history.

You can tune in to Peacock to watch Backlash France on May 4. In the meantime, catch up on all things WWE Universe on Peacock.
