What’s Next for Jade Cargill After Winning the WWE Women’s World Championship

From family time to WWE rivalry rumors, here's what the future holds for the SmackDown star.

Jade Cargill faced tough competition from Tiffany Stratton in WWE’s World Title event on Nov. 1, but Stratton’s slingshot somersaults and handspring leaps weren’t enough to stop “The Storm” from rolling in and dominating the WWE Women’s Championship.

How to Watch

Watch WWE Friday Night SmackDown Fridays at 8/7c on USA Network.

Cargill has come a long way since her childhood in Vero Beach, Florida. From earning a master’s degree in child psychology to modeling, raising a family and being crowned Queen of the Ring in 2025, one thing’s for sure—the 33-year-old has worked hard for every one of her accomplishments.

“The crown wasn’t handed to me,” Cargill wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after earning the first Women’s World Title in her career on Nov. 1. “I took it. Every setback sharpened me. Every scar fueled me. All of it was worth it.”

Several weeks after her win, the stylish WWE superstar is not about to drag her heels—or patent leather wrestling boots— just yet.  Here’s what’s next for the wrestling queen.

She runs a pro softball team with her husband, Brandon Phillips

Cargill’s love of sports runs deep. She played on two college basketball teams and married a baseball legend. A chance encounter at a Starbucks in 2015 blossomed into true love for Cargill and her husband, Brandon Phillips, a three-time MLB All-Star who played second base for the Cincinnati Reds.

The couple founded the Texas Smoke in 2022 with the goal of empowering women in sports. After a move to Atlanta, Georgia earlier this year, the team rebranded as Atlanta Smoke and just so happens to be the current reigning champions of the Fastpitch (WPF) league.

Two days after her WWE win, Cargill joined the team on the field at Truist Park, wearing her WWE Championship belt to throw out the first pitch.  Philips took to Instagram to gush about his wife, captioning a series of sweet photos, “First Pitch from THE QUEEN.”

She runs a busy household

The couple welcomed daughter Bailey Quinn into their blended family in April 2017, which also includes Phillips’ two children from a previous relationship: Micole, 19, and Micah, 11.

After a career working as a child psychologist with foster children, Cargill pivoted to wrestling after Bailey was born, making her WWE in-ring debut in 2024. She credits her daughter, 8, with providing the motivation.

“She’s seen my husband go out there and take on the baseball industry,” she said in a recent interview with Tim Hann Rivera. “The fact that she can say, ‘But my mom did that,’ and she knows that everything I’m doing is the floor to her endless ceiling. It means the world. All I want to do is inspire her.”

Now Bailey is her number one fan, cheering from the stands and sometimes hopping into the ring to celebrate with her mom.

Cargill hinted at a future WWE feud

By winning, Cargill garnered a first-time WWE Women's Championship. She is racking up the accolades, having already captured the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships twice.

But we have a feeling this is just the beginning for the wrestling icon. In Nov. 7’s Friday Night SmackDown, she teased a feud with WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair with a tense stare down.

But this fierce competitor is ready to take on any challenger. In her fiery Nov. 7 victory speech, she shared a message with the crowd: “You saw what happened to Tiffany, and that goes for every woman in that locker room.” In a mic-drop moment, she warned, “Make no mistakes about it, I’m that b---h.”
