The Miz Reveals WrestleMania 39 Host, And It's ... The Miz

What kind of host will The Miz be when he takes on the Show of Shows?

Wrestlemania Host The Miz

WWE took a surprise left turn on the Road to WrestleMania, and one of the most decorated champions in history is pegged to be the official host of the Show of Shows!

How to Watch

Watch Monday Night RAW every Monday evening at 8/7c on USA Network. Stream more exciting WWE series on Peacock.

Last night on RAW, a very special edition of MizTV promised an appearance by the yet-announced host of this year’s WrestleMania. Of course, in true Miz fashion, it was revealed that The Miz himself has scored the honor of hosting the biggest event of the year.

Hosting the Los Angeles edition of WrestleMania is fitting for the man who once called himself the Hollywood A-Lister. When you add in his hit TV series "Miz & Mrs" on USA Network, the decision by WWE to give The Miz the great responsibility of hosting WrestleMania becomes pretty obvious in retrospect. We have to admit, he fits the bill.

When you get down to brass tacks, The Miz’s in-ring credentials are nothing to scoff at. Let’s take a quick look at his biggest accomplishments:

2-time WWE Champion

8-time Intercontinental Champion (that’s not a misprint!)

2-time United States Champion

8-time Tag Team Champion

He’s also the first-ever two-time Grand Slam Champion in WWE history, an accomplishment that has been achieved by Seth Rollins as well — and no one else since. If that doesn’t impress you, maybe the fact that he has a pinfall victory over John Cena at WrestleMania on his resume as well. Add marrying Maryse to his list of accolades (we’re sure Miz counts it as an accomplishment, therefore so do we!) and it becomes clear why The Miz will be hosting The Show of Shows on April 1 and 2.

In April, he’ll join the list of legendary WrestleMania hosts such as The Rock and Hulk Hogan, as once again The Miz has defied the odds and found himself among rarefied air. However, one question remains: Will he be an active host or a passive one? As the saying goes, “With great power comes great responsibility.” In just about 4 weeks, The Miz will have plenty of power at WrestleMania — and it all comes down to how he chooses to wield it. Some hosts choose to shake up the status quo by inserting returning Superstars into title matches at the last minute, some choose to make a few in-ring appearances to appease the live crowd and get the WWE Universe hyped, and others choose to pick up a flamethrower and light a sign on fire.

Who knows what kinds of tricks The Miz will have up his sleeve come April — but we have to be honest, he’s well-connected enough in Hollywood these days to absolutely get his hands on a flamethrower.

Miz’s hosting announcement was just one of the many unreal happenings that took place on Monday Night RAW last night. It was a night of unexpected returns, new champions, and Bray Wyatt … bizarrely dancing! We told you the Road to WrestleMania would be crazy. ‘Tis the season when WWE pulls out all the stops.

So while The Miz won’t be able to match his most must-see WrestleMania moment ever this time around, we’re confident the WWE Universe will be in good hands this year on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
