Shawn Michaels had only positive things to say about the social media megastar after their training session.

WWE’s Crown Jewel premium live event in Saudi Arabia is just around the corner and the main event features social media megastar Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. While Reigns has been champ for more than two years, Paul, on the other hand, has only had two matches. The entire feud has been based on the idea of Paul landing one lucky shot, and he’s enlisted the help of a true WWE legend to help him get it done.

WWE released footage last week showing Logan Paul training in the WWE Performance Center with one of the greatest Superstars of all time, Shawn Michaels. HBK, who now works as a WWE official and trainer for NXT, not only joined Logan Paul’s “ImPaulsive” podcast, but also spoke highly of Paul on WWE’s latest media phone call. During the call, Michaels talked about why he decided to train Paul, how he’s doing in the ring and how he feels about Paul’s attitude as he heads into a seemingly unwinnable match.

“Working with him really was fun. He’s a bright kid. I didn’t know him, clearly — whatever. I am a square. I saw what he did at ‘Mania. I just thought clearly he’s somebody you can see he’s committed. I know that stuff he’s done in the past with boxing. When he jumps into something, he’s gonna go all in. He works really hard. I was curious to see what kind of time and effort he was putting into this. He requested this and I jumped at the opportunity because I was really curious. But he’s actually getting it. He’s a nice kid. Clearly, he’s bright," Michaels said.

He continued, “He does work really hard. If we could go back and teach him some of the fundamentals, I think that’ll really help him understand at a better level how you link all those other pieces that he’s learning together ... but again, I found him to be — I don’t know, a very bright kid, nice guy, he’s got a great crew around him.”

Along with The Heartbreak Kid, Paul has been training with WWE star Drew Gulak, Shane Helms, and other NXT trainers. On the podcast, Michaels confirmed he’s down to train Paul “anytime." Upon seeing who Paul was training with, The Head of the Table showed absolutely no concern, tweeting, “Hopefully he’s training with God next week.”

You can catch the highly anticipated championship match between Logan Paul and Roman Reigns live on Saturday, Nov. 5, on the WWE Network on Peacock
