The wrestling world is united in hopes of a speedy recovery for one of the industry’s all-time greats today.

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler was hospitalized earlier this week after suffering from a medical emergency. According to reports, the emergency occurred sometime after Lawler returned home to his Florida condo after having lunch with friends. News of the legend’s emergency spread throughout social media after fellow Hall of Famer Ricky Morton posted a heartfelt message about Lawler’s condition.

Just days after the emergency took place, the WWE Universe is still searching for more answers to its many questions. Undoubtedly, questions like “Will Jerry be OK?” and “How did this happen?” are on the top of many fans’ minds. While there isn’t any concrete information on Lawler’s status at the moment, it seems a close personal friend of Lawler’s with deeply-rooted connections to WWE has passed along some encouraging information. Legendary WWE play-by-play man Jim Ross has revealed he spoke to Lawler personally, and thankfully has passed on some encouraging news:

It should come as no surprise that Lawler is “obviously weak” but knowing that Jim Ross has spoken to Lawler and revealed that his prognosis is positive is music to our ears. Back in the late '90s and early 2000s, the Jerry Lawler/Jim Ross tandem served as the voices of the Attitude Era — fans can easily argue that the vast majority of the greatest RAW moments ever happened with those two sitting behind the desk. The two made a career out of selling the emotion, drama, and non-stop action that fans were treated to, setting a bar that many believe will never be topped.

The WWE Universe is unfortunately all too-familiar with keeping Jerry Lawler in their thoughts and prayers — in 2012, The King suffered an on-air heart attack during a live Monday Night RAW broadcast. It was a shocking moment that played out on live television, with concerns over Lawler’s status overshadowing the rest of the show. Thankfully, Lawler went on to make a full recovery later in the year. (We called it one of the most emotional moments in RAW history just last month.) Lawler’s last appearance on WWE TV came just a few weeks ago, during the 2023 Royal Rumble kickoff show.

Although the news that Jim Ross has passed along to the world is good news, it must come with tempered expectations. Jerry Lawler isn’t out of the woods yet — but USA Insider is with the WWE Universe as we wish for a safe and speedy recovery for one of the most beloved WWE personalities ever. Nevertheless, Lawler has come out the other side of a medical emergency before, and we’re confident he can do it again.

We’ll keep you informed on Lawler’s condition as updates arrive.

UPDATE: It seems the WWE Universe can breathe a sigh of relief. A message was posted from Jerry Lawler's official Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon, complete with photos and an optimistic prognosis for The King:
