WWE Night of Champions 2025 Match Card Sees a John Cena & CM Punk Headline Title Match
Here's the official match card and all the Superstars competing!
On Saturday, June 28, the Raw and SmackDown locker rooms will travel to Saudi Arabia for another exciting international Premium Live Event: WWE Night of Champions 2025!
Here's everything fans should know about the official match lineup, which will feature one dream match that the WWE Universe has been dying to see one more time:
Check back here as WWE announces more matches in the coming days.
John Cena vs. CM Punk - Undisputed WWE Championship
It was only a matter of time before these two Superstars crossed paths once again. At Night of Champions, a simmering rivalry is renewed as John Cena will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against CM Punk.
For years, the WWE Universe wasn't sure if the two living legends would ever meet in the ring again. They seemed on different tracks at various points in their careers. However, during the June 9 episode of Monday Night Raw, the stars finally aligned when CM Punk threw down a challenge that the champion never saw coming:
Based on that intense in-ring exchange, there's clearly no love lost between the two men, and it wouldn't surprise anyone to discover that the animosity and verbal sparring will only get more personal as June 28 approaches!
At Night of Champions, CM Punk will find himself once again in a WrestleMania-worthy main event against John Cena with the wrestling industry's most prestigious title on the line. We all remember what happened the last time Cena defended the WWE Championship against Punk, right? It was a transcendent moment that many fans consider one of the most unforgettable moments in WWE history. It goes without saying that both Superstars have an extremely high bar to clear in their Night of Champions bout, but if anybody can top what happened in Chicago so many years ago, it's John Cena and CM Punk.
Punk coming up short could have significant ramifications on his psyche and his demeanor — but truth be told, the same is true for Cena. But maybe it doesn't matter — regardless of the eventual outcome, fans are over the moon even thinking about how this epic matchup will go down in Saudi Arabia.
Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton - King of the Ring Finals
The frenetic King of the Ring tournament has finally come to a satisfying conclusion in the form of Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton meeting in the finals!
In a way, it's fitting. Arguably, the top two Superstars in WWE fighting their way through the King of the Ring bracket to have one epic clash in Saudi Arabia? It almost seemed inevitable from the jump.
The winner of this match receives a championship match of their choosing at SummerSlam, and both Superstars would love nothing more than to add more gold to their trophy case later this summer. The WWE Universe will be rightfully split down the middle as they'll be forced to pick sides, and in a toss-up matchup like this one, conventional wisdom suggests that the eventual King of the Ring will be the man who garners the most support throughout the match. In such a high-stakes bout like this, both Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton could use all the help they can get.
Jade Cargill vs. Asuka - Queen of the Ring Finals
When the 2025 Queen of the Ring field was announced many weeks ago, nobody could've predicted that Jade Cargill and Asuka would be the last two women standing in the tournament, setting the stage for one unpredictable showdown.
Although she's a former tag team champion in her own right, this opportunity is undoubtedly the biggest in Jade Cargill's brief WWE career. She's been waiting to make her mark as a singles star for some time now, and becoming the 2025 Queen of the Ring would put her one step closer to holding the top women's titles in WWE.
As for Asuka, well, what else is there to say about the Japanese Superstar? She's a living legend, having accomplished nearly everything a wrestler can achieve in professional wrestling. (Of course, Queen of the Ring is a distinction that Asuka hasn't had the pleasure of calling herself yet.)
Either woman winning sets up a tantalizing title showdown. If Cargill wins, she could set her sights on former friend Naomi, who currently holds the WWE Women's Championship. And if Asuka wins? She could go after the Women's World Championship, currently held by (you guessed it) her former friend, IYO SKY.
We can't wait to see how everything plays out!
Jacob Fatu vs. Solo Sikoa - United States Championship
At Money in the Bank 2025, The Bloodline finally splintered in the most dramatic way possible:
Thanks to one emphatic "I hate you, Solo!" screamed at the top of Jacob Fatu's lungs, he and Solo Sikoa find themselves on opposite sides of the ring at Night of Champions with the United States Title on the line!
The tension between the two Superstars has been boiling over for months. Fatu decisively drawing a line in the sand at Money in the Bank (and stopping Sikoa from winning the match) marked the point of no return for the former allies. There's no going back now. The Bloodline is now irrecoverably changed, and the WWE Universe can't wait to see which man comes out on top with one of SmackDown's top championships up for grabs. Fatu has been on a tear since winning the United States Title at WrestleMania, but can Sikoa parlay the sour taste of betrayal in his mouth into singles gold? No matter the outcome, fans should expect an explosive, chaotic match at Night of Champions.
Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross
For months, Karrion Kross has been playing mind games with many fan-favorite WWE Superstars, especially Sami Zayn. Kross has been pushing Sami's buttons for far too long, culminating in one epic backstage moment where Sami decided Kross wouldn't be in his ear any longer:
Still, as the match between Kross and Zayn looms over the heads of both men, fans have to wonder what is going through the mind of Karrion Kross. Does he truly want to hang a pinfall victory over Sami Zayn on his resume, or does he just want to continue to torment the fan favorite until Sami snaps?
The WWE Universe will witness the next chapter of this intriguing story in just a few days.
Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez - Street Fight
There is no love lost between the two larger-than-life Superstars as Rhea Ripley is set to square off against Raquel Rodriguez in a Street Fight at Night of Champions. Fans should expect, well, absolute chaos.
Will tables be broken? Yes. Will chairs be used as weapons? Of course. Will the physicality be turned up in a manner that fans just don't see every week on Raw and SmackDown? You bet. Both Ripley and Rodriguez have nothing but pride on the line.
Ripley is trying to move on from her Judgment Day roots and blaze a path of her own, but the nefarious actions of Rodriquez and her Judgment Day allies make that task borderline impossible. During the June 23 episode of Monday Night Raw, Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez blindsided Mami with a sneak attack for the ages, which made the lead-up to their match at Night of Champions even more personal:
Will Night of Champions double as a night of revenge for Rhea Ripley? That all depends on whether she is fully healthy enough after that brazen attack to compete in a Street Fight to the best of her abilities!
