Pro athletes are often some of the most sought-after players in the game of romance. They have fame and fortune and those can be powerful aphrodisiacs. But what if their true identities were hidden? How would they do on the battlefield of love then? Love Undercover, the upcoming Peacock dating series, entertains just that question. The captivating experiment will feature international soccer stars pretending to be regular guys with regular jobs in the quest to find love in Los Angeles.

Judging by a look at the new trailer, there’ll be no shortage of drama! Five elite soccer players from around the world — Jamie O’Hara, Ryan Babel, Marco Fabián, Lloyd Jones, and Sebastián Fassi — convene in Hollywood to star in this “modern-day fairytale” that takes viewers on an unusual “journey filled with drama, heartbreak, and self-discovery,” according to a series description from Peacock.

Eighteen single American women will get to know their potential soulmates without all the trappings of celebrity. Instead, the soccer stars take creative license with their fake personas, claiming to have jobs like “construction worker” and “ad salesman.” As we see in the trailer, the ladies are skeptical from the start and can’t help but wonder if the men are hiding something.

"I think girls in the past have gone for me because of what I've got," retired English footballer Jamie O’Hara reveals in the trailer.

"That's why we're going undercover," Sebastián Fassi, a goalkeeper for Spanish club San Fernando CD, says. But the men soon find out that love can be messy and complicated no matter who you are.

“I am in a triangle,” Sebastián later admits before one of his apparent love interests exclaims, “Menage a trois? No!”

The ultimate goal is to “win over the ladies” while keeping their real identities secret. If successful, the soccer stars will reveal everything at the end of their stay in Los Angeles and invite their lucky ladies back to their home countries. We’re looking forward to all the romantic twists and turns in this entertaining take on the dating show genre.
