It looks like John Cena’s return to WWE isn’t limited to SmackDown after all. The Champion of the ring and star of TV and film confirmed he’ll be making an appearance on the upcoming installment of NXT.

How to Watch

Watch Monday Night RAW every Monday evening at 8/7c on USA Network. Stream more exciting WWE series on Peacock.

Cena’s NXT appearance was first announced by Carmelo Hayes who stated that “The Greatest of All Time” gave him some advice on what to do with his newly revived and very storied feud with Bronn Breakker. The conversation ended with Cena agreeing to be in Hayes’ corner as he takes on Breakker on NXT this coming week.

“N-X-T! N-X-T! N-X-T! Thank you to @Carmelo_WWE for the opportunity to be there LIVE on @WWENXT on what will be a CANNOT MISS show on Tuesday! C U Then!!! #WWENXT,” Cena wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Thursday.

Not to be outdone, Breakker will have The Bloodline’s legendary hype man, Paul Heyman, in his corner. As he described it, the Tribal Chief himself, Roman Reigns, put him on loan to Breakker on behalf of the fractured Bloodline because Cena has been inserting himself into their drama during his temporary stint on SmackDown. While it’s possible Cena may get his hands dirty in the ring during the bout, the real story of the night will be the renewed rivalry between Hayes and Breakker.

After losing his NXT Title to Ilja Dragunov, Breakker confronted his old enemy to convince him to leave the brand. However, Hayes refused leading to the decision to face off this week in a bout for the ages with a legendary Superstar in Hayes’ corner… and Heyman in the other.

Appearing on NXT continues Cena’s trend to be all over the WWE Universe since agreeing to come back for a short eight-week run in September. Not only has the Superstar been appearing on SmackDown, but he’ll team up with LA Knight in a tag team match against Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa at WWE Fastlane this Saturday.

Meanwhile, Cena won’t be the only non-NXT Superstar appearing on the show this week. Cody Rhodes has been confirmed for a mysterious major announcement that will take place the same night Hayes and Breakker go head-to-head. What will it be? How will Cena and Hayes do as a ringside team? Fans will just have to tune into NXT to find out.
