Before anyone can start thinking about SummerSlam, WWE's end-of-the-season spectacular, there's one event that countless Superstars and fans alike have been eyeing lately: Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12.

How to Watch

Watch WWE Friday Night SmackDown Fridays at 8/7c on USA Network.

Headlined by a gigantic title match main event, the latest iteration of SNME will be ingrained in the minds of the WWE Universe for the rest of the year.

Here's everything fans should know about the huge WWE primetime special, including how to tune in!

What is Saturday Night's Main Event?

Saturday Night's Main Event is a quarterly primetime special that harkens back to the early days of WWE.

Long before shows like SmackDown and Monday Night Raw began airing on cable TV, WWE would take advantage of the temporary availability on Saturday nights that became available on NBC whenever Saturday Night Live wasn't airing new episodes; SNME became a primetime event featuring huge matches and thrilling storylines. In many ways, it was the spiritual ancestor and precursor to mega-events like WrestleMania and SummerSlam.

Every episode of SNME was a can't-miss event in the eyes of the fans, a status that has remained true to this day.

In 2024, Saturday Night's Main Event returned to NBC with a refreshed look and feel while carrying distinctly retro vibes. On July 12, WWE and NBC will team up once again for an explosive edition of SNME that will feature many of your favorite Superstars (past and present) competing at the highest level!

How can WWE fans watch Saturday Night's Main Event?

Like traditional Premium Live Events (like the July 13 all-women's wrestling Evolution 2025 event), Saturday Night's Main Event will be broadcast live on Peacock in the United States on July 12 at 8 p.m. ET.

However, for fans who crave a more traditional wrestling experience that reflects the iconic show's roots, the best place to watch every heart-stopping match on the card is NBC!

The July 12 episode of SNME will air live on NBC at 8 p.m. ET. Check your local listings for availability.

Where is the July 12 Saturday Night's Main Event taking place?

This summer edition of SNME will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

It wasn't too long ago that WWE visited the State Farm Arena; it played host to Bad Blood 2024, which featured a shocking confrontation between Gunther and Goldberg that had fans immediately theorizing if Goldberg was planning an in-ring comeback:

Fans who have been dying to see Goldberg return to the ring will get their wish on July 12; he's set for a showdown for the World Heavyweight Championship!

Why is Goldberg wrestling at Saturday Night's Main Event?

Longtime fans will recognize a familiar face: Goldberg is set to take on Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship in the evening's top contest. Goldberg, the WWE Hall of Famer who dominated the American wrestling scene in the 90s and 2000s, returns for one epic match where all eyes will be on him.

However, Goldberg's return match carries a caveat: His title clash against Gunther on July 12 will be the final match of his illustrious career. It is effectively a retirement match, but Goldberg has no plans to retire if he defeats Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. The WWE Universe could very well see Goldberg reestablish himself as one of the true alphas of the wrestling world on Saturday; after all, the legend still packs one heck of a punch:

Decades ago, Goldberg owned one of the most impressive undefeated streaks in modern wrestling history as he steamrolled through his competitors in WCW en route to becoming the company's World Heavyweight Champion. Years later, the larger-than-life Superstar has a rare opportunity to run it back as WWE's World Heavyweight Champion by dethroning Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event.

Both competitors are tough, both are physically imposing, and both know what it takes to be a champion. But will their astounding age gap (Gunther is firmly in his prime at age 37 while Goldberg is nearly 20 years his senior at 59) be the difference between Goldberg walking out of State Farm Arena as World Heavyweight Champion?

The WWE Universe can't wait to find out on July 12.

You can tune in to NBC to watch Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12. In the meantime, catch up on all things WWE Universe on Peacock.
