Kyle Busch's Son May Be Joining The Family's NASCAR Legacy One Day

Kyle Busch's son, Brexton, is still young, but it's never too early to start getting into NASCAR.

NASCAR is a sport that's packed with familiar surnames: It's a sport where many competitors felt inspired to follow in their family members' paths. One of those people is Kyle Busch, a NASCAR star who got involved in the sport with his older brother, Kurt Busch. Both have racked up the accolades over the years and are even now featured on the new USA Network series "Race For The Championship," which chronicles 12 drivers competing in the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series.

In a recent interview with USA Insider, Kyle indicated another Busch may be entering the world of NASCAR one day.

Kyle's son, Brexton, may only be 7 years old, but he's already become an avid racer. In 2021, at the tender age of 6, he won nine go-kart races, and recently started racing a mini-sprint car, according to The Las Vegas Review-Journal. Clearly, motorsports runs in the family.

"Obviously, he’s following in Dad’s footsteps, so that’s what’s cool. But, you know, he started out a little rocky but he’s really picked up. We’ve won a lot of races and he’s reminding me every single day he wins more than I do," Kyle told USA Insider digital correspondent Stephanie Gomulka at the series premiere event for "Race For The Championship."

Brexton agreed with the sentiment: "I've liked [racing] a lot ... because I've been winning," he told Gomulka, adding he's also liked all the friends he's made in the sport.

As Kyle pointed out, it's those relationships that makes NASCAR so special. In fact, it's part of the reason he was excited to do "Race For The Championship": He wants to show viewers the human side of the drivers.

"We’re on TV a lot, so it’s just a matter of continuing to humanize me. and me being a family man and passionate about the sport of racing. I’m a race car driver, I’m a winner, I’m a champion, but also I’m a family guy. I’m the husband to Samantha, I’m the dad to Brexton and Lennix. So there is a completely different side of what happens off the race track," he said.

“Race For The Championship” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network. You can catch more NASCAR content on Peacock right now.
