The driver of the No. 18 M&M’S/Interstate Batteries Toyota can boast he's a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, and he’s doing everything he can to secure his third in 2022. His odds aren’t bad, either. The Las Vegas native has more than 200 total NASCAR wins under his belt, including a few this season.

He is perhaps best known as a controversial figure on the track due to his aggressive style of racing and dealing with the media. But he seems to fully embrace his “Rowdy” persona and even co-founded a brand of energy drink called Rowdy Energy. In short, Busch likes to make a big splash with whatever he does, whether that’s winning race after race in NASCAR or just getting his fans hyped to see what he does next.

As a result, there’s a lot of pressure to deliver, which he does.

Following the retirement of seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson, he is the only active driver in NASCAR with multiple championships under his belt, Busch’s website notes. In 2018, he made NASCAR history by being the first driver to win at all tracks in the NASCAR Cup Series schedule.

In addition to winning the NASCAR Cup series in 2015 and 2019, he also won the Xfinity championship series in 2009. Simply put, it’s hard to argue with his experience on the track, and he throws that weight around as often as he can. As a result, he doesn’t often make friends among his fellow NASCAR drivers and “Race For The Championship” co-stars — fortunately, he doesn’t care as long as the wins keep coming and the fans stay rowdy.

However, in his personal life, the rowdy side can take a back seat to his family man persona. Not only does he spend most weekend racing alongside his brother, Kurt, on the track, he and his wife, Samantha, are parents to two kids. Brexton is 7 years old and they recently welcomed daughter Lennix to the world in May.

While that news was happy, they’re also not afraid to be honest about their personal bumps in the road. After the duo suffered a tragic miscarriage they used the moment to spread awareness and even started the Bundle Of Joy Fund, dedicated to spreading infertility awareness and education as well as eliminating financial barriers for couples seeking fertility treatments.

When it comes to his time on “Race For The Championship,” fans will get an inside look at his competitive lifestyle, including his interactions with team head Joe Gibbs in a year in which his future with the team remains uncertain. In addition, they’ll see the difficulty he experiences at home as a top-tier NASCAR driver who is expecting a second baby.

“Race For The Championship” premieres on Sept. 1 on USA Network. In the meantime, fans can watch more NASCAR content on Peacock right now.
