Everything to Know About The Rainmaker Season 2
After that explosive finale, legal eagles everywhere are wanting more.
There has been a briefcase-sized hole in our hearts ever since season one of The Rainmaker ended. In the explosive finale, Rudy Baylor (Milo Callaghan) delivered sweet justice for his client by exposing a hospital murder cover-up, and the unscrupulous opposing counsel, led by Leo Drummond (John Slattery), is now under FBI investigation.
There’s no doubt USA Network plans to keep bringing the thrills in the upcoming season two of the John Grisham-inspired series, but so far, show creator Michael Seitzman has been playing his cards close to the vest, offering just a few details to hold fans over.
Here’s everything we know so far about season two of The Rainmaker.
Will the same characters return?
The jury is still out on which characters will return in season two, according to Seitzman, who told TV Insider on Oct. 23 that he’s considering various scenarios—and even toying with the idea of “wiping the slate clean.”
“I have a lot of ideas for season two,” he shared, “but none of them have really calcified yet in my mind, and some of them include those characters, and some of them don’t.”

“There’s a part of me that wonders if we just completely wipe the slate clean in season two, and the characters who are not in trouble come back, and the other characters who were in trouble, we treat that as backstory,” he continued. “There’s another part of me that wonders how I could bring them back, but it’s a tricky thing. I have to think about it some more.”
The actors and fans are pleading their case
While the characters’ fates are currently up in the air, several stars have made it clear they want to return. “I’m here for seven seasons, so let’s go,” Callaghan told TV Insider. “We’re always having conversations… I hope we get the gang back together, and I hope we meet another adversary on the road.”
"Paralawyer: Dick Sheflett (P.J. Byrne) also shared an emotional message from set, describing the cast and crew as his family. “Every once in a while, something incredible happens. That the people you work with become family,” he said in a recent video posted to Instagram. “I love you from the bottom of my heart.”

Seitzman echoed that sentiment. “I also really love the actors who played the characters,” he told the outlet. “It was a very special experience for all of us. We all went to Dublin together. Everybody got very close. We worked really closely together, and we felt very proud of what we created together by the end.”
