The new USA Network series is a breakout role for Milo Callaghan, but you may have seen him before.
It's fitting that the lead role in the upcoming USA series The Rainmaker, which follows a rookie lawyer as he takes on a massive case against a powerful insurance company, would be played by an up-and-coming actor, too. The series, an adaptation of the John Grisham novel, isn't Milo Callaghan's debut role, but it's certainly his biggest — and he's stepping into shoes once occupied by Matt Damon, who played law school grad Rudy Baylor in Francis Ford Coppola's 1997 film adaptation.
Hailing from the U.K. and a graduate of the University of Cambridge, Callaghan is a fresh face who will act opposite names like John Slattery, Dan Fogler, and Lana Parrilla in the upcoming series. Milo Callaghan's TV career before The Rainmaker
Callaghan's first acting credit was the Staz historical drama The Spanish Princess, in which he played Henry Stafford in five episodes in 2020. He next appeared in episodes of FBI: International, Casualty, and Doctor Who. In 2024, he had a notable part in the Disney+ series Rivals, an adaptation of the 1988 Jilly Cooper of the same name. Starring David Tennant and Aidan Turner, the show was about two wealthy Brits and how their rivalry affects their work and romance. Callaghan played Set Burrows, a journalist working for an independent commercial TV station that is a major pawn in the rivalry.
He also had a memorable part in the Dune prequel series Dune: Prophecy on Max, playing Orry Atreides. He was also in an Irish teen comedy series called Video Nasty. The Rainmaker will be his first leading role on the big or small screens.
What movies has Milo Callaghan been in?
So far, Callaghan has only been in one film: a small part in the 2024 movie The Strangers: Chapter 1, the third film in the home-invasion horror franchise. He played a character named Wayne.
