Tracy Spiridakos soars as Anna Pigeon, a former city slicker turned national park ranger detective, in the first trailer for USA Network's new drama based on the beloved book series by Nevada Barr.

Anna Pigeon is taking flight.
Actress Tracy Spiridakos (Chicago P.D.) brings the beloved park ranger detective to life in the first trailer for USA Network’s new drama series.
“I love this park,” Anna says in the May 11 preview. “You can hide and feel safe. Maybe that’s why I came here—to find myself.”
Based on the New York Times best-selling novels by Nevada Barr, season one follows the titular character as she flees city life for the solitude of America’s stunning national parks following a devastating loss. While Anna seeks solace in nature after the traumatic death of her husband, her sister Molly (played by Two and a Half Men alum Tricia Helfer) worries Anna’s escape to the wilderness is just a distraction from her deeper suffering.
“Anna, you can’t just give up on life, be a park ranger and go live in the forest," Molly declares in the clip. "An astute psychiatrist would say that you’re avoiding your feelings.”
On the job, Anna quickly becomes obsessed with crime-solving after she makes some sinister discoveries hidden inside the forest she helps protect.
“Nature can hide dark secrets," she notes. "It’s my job to unearth them.”
But Anna's mission to solve her park's mysteries hits a road bump when millionaire Jeremiah Paulson (Son of Anarchy's Kim Coates) gets in her way. And it's not long before Jeremiah finds himself with “a Pigeon problem,” as his character puts it in the first look.
While he warns her, “I get what I want from the big sky to the ground and everything around,” Anna isn’t backing down.
“It belongs to everybody,” she reminds him. “If you even touch one hair on this park’s head, I’ll stop you.”
Joining Anna for her sleuthing adventures this season are Frederick Stanton (Ronnie Rowe), an FBI agent and charismatic wanderer who chases crimes through national parks, Zoey Bear Child (Paulina Alexis), a young ranger coming into her own who looks to Anna as a mentor, and Bethany Lopez (Melanie Scrofano), the wife of park ranger Manny Lopez (Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz), who is working to find her place within the ranger community.
