A new crime fighter is making her way to your screen. USA Network is adapting The New York Times best-selling Anna Pigeon book series as part of its bold new programming slate for the 2025-2026 season.

The series will focus on titular character Anna Pigeon, a woman trying to flee her traumatic past by becoming a park ranger — only to find herself embroiled in a series of crimes committed in the vast American wilderness.

What is Anna Pigeon about?

Premiering in 2026, the series will bring the perfect blend of intrigue and mystery as Anna tries to rediscover herself, while solving the perplexing crimes she encounters along the way.

“Anna Pigeon is a former city slicker who became a park ranger after a devastating loss changed the trajectory of her life forever,” an official synopsis explains. “While Anna tries to outrun her demons, her focus turns to solving crimes that have taken place within national park grounds, no matter who or what gets in her way.”

Who stars in Anna Pigeon?

USA Network announced that Chicago P.D. alum Tracy Spiridakos would star as the titular Anna Pigeon in July. The announcement was soon followed by news that Star Trek: Discovery star Ronnie Rowe Jr. has been cast as FBI agent and "wanderer" Frederick Stanton.

Joining Spiridakos and Rowe will be Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz, Cooper Levy, and Ryan Northcott, as well as Paulina Alexis and Tricia Helfer.

Anna Pigeon will be produced by Cineflix Studios and December Films.

The series, helmed by showrunner Morwyn Brebner, will be based on the best-selling novels by Nevada Barr.

Over the last three decades, Barr has penned 19 different Anna Pigeon novels, according to her website

The first book in the series, Track of the Cat, was published in 1993 and focused on the harrowing death of one of Anna’s fellow park rangers in the remote West Texas backcountry.

In the books that followed, the unconventional sleuth has made her way across the United States, solving crimes in national parks.

The USA series, aptly named Anna Pigeon, will be directed by Lea Thompson, while Todd Berger, Julie Di Cresce, Brett Burlock, Peter Emerson, Sonia Hosko, and Gordon Gilbertson are set to executive produce.

Currently, there's no word on casting, but there's plenty more to come from Anna Pigeon as the series gets closer to its 2026 premiere date.

More shows coming to USA Network

Anna Pigeon isn’t the only new series headed to USA Network. The Rainmaker, a legal thriller based on the best-selling novel by John Grisham, will be premiering on August 15, 2025.

WWE fans will also get the opportunity to see a new side of Braun Strowman in Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman, a new reality series that follows the WWE legend as he “eats his way across America,” by ordering everything on the menu and trying to finish every last bite. The series is expected to premiere in the Fall of 2025.
