It’s been a little more than eight years since Shawn Spencer (James Roday Rodriguez) and Burton “Gus” Guster (Dulé Hill) wrapped up their final case on the series finale of the USA Network original “Psych” only to return not once, not twice, but in three spinoff movies.
For those unfamiliar, the show was a detective comedy-drama focused on Shawn, a rough-around-the-edges young man whose father trained him to have a photographic memory. To make money, he would consult with the police to help solve crimes and collect the reward money. However, when his unique set of skills makes him a suspect and not a hero, he pretends to be getting his insights from the spirit world as a psychic. It’s not a great explanation but he commits to the bit with hilarious gusto, and the rest is TV history.
With the help of his childhood best friend, Gus, and his former police officer father, Henry (Corbin Bernsen), Shawn opens the “Psych” private investigation agency to assist the local police department — including Detectives Carlton "Lassie" Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) and Juliet O'Hara (Maggie Lawson) as well as Chief Karen Vick (Kirsten Nelson) — in their investigations. Eight seasons and three movies later, the duo had solved countless cases, faced danger many times, found love, and much more.
Following the November 2021 release of the third movie, "Psych 3: This Is Gus," many former and new fans are looking to see how they can either relive or catch up on all the wacky adventures Shawn, Gus and the team at the Santa Barbra Police Department shared over the years. Fortunately, you don't need to be a crack detective to find all episodes of “Psych" for your latest binge-watch.
For those who have a subscription to Peacock, you’re in luck. Not only is every episode of “Psych” available to stream, but all three movies are there as well. In fact, Peacock is the only place to see all three movies given that “Psych 2: Lassie Come Home” and “Psych 3: This Is Gus” are exclusive to the platform.
That said, there are other places to watch most of the show. All eight seasons of “Psych” and the first movie can be streamed on Amazon Prime video, provided you have a subscription. They're also available to purchase on Apple TV, Google TV, Vudu, and YouTube along with the first movie as well.
So, grab a pineapple, put your feet up, tune out the spirit world, and get to watching all of USA's “Psych.”
