As the Dallas Cowboys were winding down the team’s rookie minicamp, quarterback Dak Prescott and some of his veteran brethren from Jerry Jones’ roster took time to soak up the high-octane action at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth for the Würth 400.

Before the talented field of NASCAR Cup Series drivers put the peddle to the metal on the Lone Star state’s renowned 1.5-mile oval, including eventual winner Joey Logano, Prescott passed the football around to pit crew members rocking a patchwork denim ensemble and hopefully warming up that arm for a bounce back season that can get the Cowboys back to the NFL playoffs.

Dak Prescott shows off "hip-whip" at Nascar race

Slinging the pig skin around with all the ease of a franchise quarterback who recently signed a $240 million extension, a helmet-free Prescott appeared right at home as he hit his signature ‘hip-whip’ warm-up move on pit road before the flag dropped. Prescott's now-famous warm-up routine went viral among football fans in 2019, a unique, dance-like motion designed to loosen up his throwing motion before kickoff.

"It's about your rotation," Prescott explained to ESPN. "It's the disassociation of your left shoulder from your front hip. My front hip goes and I can hold my shoulder. When I bring my back hip, the right [shoulder] then comes. That's all it is. It's pretty much like a rubber band, I guess. I'm just warming up, getting it ready, getting the body flowing. Elasticity is one of the words I'm looking for. It's really that."

Shades on, shoulders relaxed, if you didn’t know better you’d never suspect this is a guy who is on the mend from a season-ending injury last year – a partial avulsion of his right hamstring – that derailed his 2024-2025 campaign.

But judging by the tosses with the pit crew? Prescott is clearly feeling better. For Cowboys fans hoping to see Prescott back to pre-injury form this fall, his hip wiggle and general at ease during the NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway are signs of his rebounding health, at least that’s one positive he can carry with him as the Cowboys look to bounce back this season.
