Who is Perrie Edwards, WAG of Premier League’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain?

Let’s be honest – now that he’s rumored to be shipping out of Anfield this summer as his Liverpool contract comes to an end, it’s fair to say that things have not exactly gone swimmingly for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain since joining the Reds from Arsenal in 2017. Failing to meet lofty expectations, his dearth of playing time this season has produced one measly goal in 12 appearances. In general, whether because of injuries or team fit, he just hasn’t looked anything like the supernova who once burst onto the scene at Southampton where he was regarded as one of the best and brightest young players in all of the English Premier League.

Where did Perrie Edwards grow up?
Perrie Edwards was born July 10, 1993 in in South Shields, Tyne and Wear in Northeast England. Her parents Deborah Duffy and Alexander Edwards were such massive fans of the legendary rock group Journey that they reportedly named her after the group’s founding member and lead singer Steve Perry. Edwards has one older brother as well as a half-sister.
What is Perrie Edwards known for?
While she’s not quite on the same meteoric level as Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice and Premier League legend David Beckham’s wife, English songstress Perrie Edwards carved out a significant career for herself in the pop music realm with her group Little Mix during the 2010’s. Her start officially came in 2011 where, at the age of 17, she auditioned for The X Factor. Despite belting out some of Alanis Morisette’s hits, she failed to advance as a solo performer and had a few false starts in the groups she was added to for the show, until she was placed in a foursome with Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall. The group, eventually dubbed Little Mix, became the first group to ever win the British version of the popular American reality competition show.
Known for her pipes within the group, Edwards helped propel the group to international fame, releasing six albums along the way that generated, in total, five number-one singles on the United Kingdom’s Singles Chart. In 2021, she channeled her celebrity status into fashion, launching her own brand Disora that has since become a successful athletic-leisure company. That same year, she also became a brand ambassador for Supreme Nutrition – a supplement brand that her beau Oxlade-Chamberlain also reps. As a social media influencer, Edwards boast an impressive 17.4 million followers on Instagram, qualifying her as the most followed WAG in the Premier League now that Cristiano Ronaldo (and his partner Georgina Rodríguez) is no longer in the league.
How did Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain meet Perrie Edwards?
The rumor mill first began swirling about a possible relationship between Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain when she was spotted attending one of his Arsenal matches in 2016. Edwards later broke the news that they were a couple with an official Instagram post the following year in February. After adopting a French bulldog puppy in 2020, who they named Travis, the happy couple welcomed their first child – son Axel – in August 2021, and, in 2022, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Edwards announced their engagement
"Last night the love of my life got down on one knee and I said… YES!" wrote Edwards in an Instagram post that included a series of gorgeous sunset photographs from the special moment.
Though the couple has been engaged for more than a year, they don't appear to have set an official date for their wedding.
“There’s so much going on right now,” Perrie recently dished to Grazia. “I’m in the studio, whilst also having my fiancée being like, ‘When are we going to start planning the wedding?’ Again, it’s like starting the business! Where do you even start with a wedding? It’s a lot. We spoke about it whilst we were on holiday, and I’ve got a really good idea of what I want now.”
Prior to linking up with Oxlade-Chamberlain, Edwards was in a serious relationship with One Direction founding member Zayn Malik, to whom she was engaged for two years.
