The 19-year-old Johansen grew up in Bryne, a small township in Rogaland county, Norway. Johansen was attending a youth soccer academy for the local football club in town where Haaland had been developing at since he was just 5 years old, according to The Sun. After meeting at the academy, the two quickly forged a strong connection, one that would only grow as Haaland would stay with the Norwegian side for more than a decade before moving on, first to RB Salzburg, then Borussia Dortmund and now Manchester City.
