Unpacking Resident Alien's Time Travel Shenanigans
Last week on Resident Alien, Harry and D'arcy (Alice Wetterlund) traveled back in time in an effort to obtain some alien tech Harry needs to exchange for his stolen alien life-force. Upon going back to 1970s Maine, they learn that Linda Hamilton's General Eleanor McCallister has the device.

In a look inside the episode, Resident Alien's creator, showrunner, and executive producer Chris Sheridan said the time travel episode was long in the making.
"We had talked about doing an episode where someone gets in a time machine and goes into the past for a couple years now," he explained. "An opportunity arose this year to be able to do it ... The cast had a blast going back in time. I think Alice being able to wear that outfit was enough for her. She loved it."

Hamilton, for her part, said the episode was responsible for one of her favorite lines of sci-fi dialog: "Don't you have to diarrhea?"
In the episode, Harry tries to get D'arcy to go away so he can speak with General McCallister in private, insinuating gastrointestinal distress as a cover.
"That line will go with me to the grave," Hamilton told USA Insider. "It's just the way that he delivered it, and I thought, ‘I can't believe that this is one of the shining moments of my career,’ is him and the way that he's delivering this line brilliantly every time. That’s become my favorite go-to line."
Season 4 of Resident Alien drops new episodes on Fridays on USA Network and SYFY. All episodes will be available to stream exclusively on Peacock one week after they air.
