Resident Alien Season 4 Official Trailer

Are you ready to return to Patience, Colorado?

How to Watch

Watch new episodes of Resident Alien Fridays at 11/10c on USA Network.

Season 4 of Resident Alien is set to make contact on Friday, June 6, on its brand-new network home: USA Network. Despite the channel change, the show is still the same wacky sci-fi comedy fans have come to love since it first kicked off in 2021. Given that the third season ended a little over a year ago, we wouldn't begrudge you forgetting where all the main players stand ahead of the new episodes, which will introduce even more new faces by way of Stephen Root and Jewel Staite.

As such, we've decided to put together a quick rundown on where we last left Harry, Asta, D'arcy, and the rest of the beloved Patience crew at the end of Season 3.

Where all the Resident Alien characters stand ahead of Season 4

"Dr." Harry Vanderspeigle (Alan Tudyk)

Harry Vanderspeigle speaks on a cellphone in Resident Alien Episode 302.

Last we saw of Harry, he was stuck in a prison cell on the Greys’ lunar base alongside his adorable child, Bridget. The Harry who escaped with Asta, D’arcy, and Kate’s abducted baby was revealed to be the shape-shifting, head-devouring Mantid (voiced by the great Clancy Brown) introduced at the beginning of the Season 3 finale.

For a full recap of the past three seasons, check out Harry's hilarious Resident Alien recap right here on USA Insider.

Only Max, with his genetic superpower, can see this imposter (also played by Tudyk) for what he really is. Thankfully, the Season 4 trailer was kind enough to let us know that the real Harry and Bridget will return before long to reclaim their rightful place in Patience, albeit with Harry's alien powers completely inhibited.

Asta Twelvetrees (Sara Tomko)

Asta Twelvetrees looks up on Resident Alien Episode 308.

Following the adventure on the Greys’ lunar base, Asta sits down with Harry at Dan’s diner and tells him not to blame himself for losing Bridget. Of course, Asta is totally unaware she’s really speaking to the Mantid, whose identity is hinted at when Harry spits out one of his favorite foods, pie, in disgust.

Nevertheless, Asta’s empathetic nature harkens back to the discussion she has with D’arcy earlier in the episode, where she admits that while her chronic need to take care of others is a way of ignoring her own emotional baggage, making sure her loved ones are OK is also a way of ensuring her own happiness.

D'arcy Bloom (Alice Wetterlund)

D'Arcy Bloom points at a closet in Resident Alien Episode 303.

By the start of the Season 3 finale, D’arcy is wholly committed to sacrificing herself to save Earth in order to thwart the Greys’ apocalyptic plans.

Having felt aimless since the skiing accident that killed her Olympic dreams years before, D’arcy sees this as a way of having some real purpose in the world. When that doesn’t pan out, however, she shifts her focus to rescuing Kate and her newborn daughter from the lunar base. On that front, she is successful, and when back on the ground in Patience, she knocks on the door of the Hawthorne residence to give the baby girl back to her mother.

Max Hawthorne (Judah Prehn)

Max Hawthorne holds up a test tube in Resident Alien Episode 305.

Since the alleged death of Peter Bock (Terry O’Quinn), Max decided to take up the mantle of “Alien Tracker” without being asked. Even so, who better to assume the role than a young man capable of seeing through extra-terrestrial disguises?

Sahar convinced him to patch up his differences with Harry, but the Harry living in the cabin by the lake is the aforementioned Mantid. Naturally, Max has an understandable freakout when he sees the mandible monster in its true form rather than his longtime frenemy.

Sheriff Mike Thompson (Corey Reynolds)

Sheriff Mike Thompson smiles.

After many attempts to discount Liv’s belief that aliens are real, Sheriff Mike finally gets unimpeachable proof of life before our planet when he knocks out an honest-to-goodness member of the Grey species.

Based on the Season 4 trailer, though, Mike still refuses to believe. “The world,” as he puts it, “is black and white. Salt and pepper.” It’s also worth mentioning that before his close encounter of the third kind, the good sheriff patched things up with girlfriend Detective Lena Torres (Nicola Correia-Damude).

Deputy Liv Baker (Elizabeth Bowen)

Sheriff Mike Thompson and Deputy Liv Bake stand outside in Resident Alien Episode 305.

As one of the few people in town who believes in aliens, Deputy Liv really needs to be brought into the circle of people aware of Harry’s true identity. Her refusal to give up her convictions leads to a mysterious note requesting a rendezvous near an old coal mine out in the wilderness.

Upon showing up, Liv is greeted by none other than the cyborg-ized Peter Bock!

Mayor Ben Hawthorne (Levi Fiehler)

Max and Ben Hawthorne stand next to a diorama in Resident Alien Episode 305.

After realizing that he and Kate have been abducted by aliens (the Greys specifically), Ben is determined to remove the chips embedded in the back of their necks. Kate refuses, wanting to reclaim their baby, and Ben agrees as the two go to sleep holding hands, ready to be abducted. When Kate returns, Ben tries to learn about what happened, but his wife can’t remember a thing.

Kate Hawthorne (Meredith Garretson)

Harry Vanderspeigle checks Kate Hawthorne's neck on Resident Alien Season 3 Episode 7.

Speaking of Kate, she is ultimately taken to the Greys’ lunar base, though this time she’s prepared to fight them for control of her daughter. Working with D’arcy, her daughter is saved and returned to Earth. While she doesn’t remember anything about the ordeal (she was sent back by the Greys before accomplishing her goal), Kate is about to be reunited with a child she was being gaslighted into thinking never existed.

Dan Twelvetrees (Gary Farmer)

Asta Twelvetrees and Dan Twelvetrees have an intimate discussion in Resident Alien Episode 303.

Grateful to Harry for saving both the planet and his daughter, Dan offers Dr. Vanderspeigle free diner pie for life. Too bad the real Harry isn’t there to celebrate. But as Asta reminded her father, Harry never pays for pie, so it's not really that much of a change. But hey, it's the thought that counts, right?

Sahar Karimi (Gracelyn Awad Rinke)

Sahar (Gracelyn Awad Rinke) speaks to Harry on Resident Alien Season 3 Episode 7.

Having gone off to California for a special academic program for gifted students earlier in Season 3, Sahar returns to Patience in the final two episodes to help Harry reconnect with Bridget and Max.

General Eleanor McCallister (Linda Hamilton)

Resident Alien Linda Hamilton

The alien-obsessed general apprehends Grey-human hybrid Joseph (Enver Gjokaj) in the Season 3 finale with the use of the cyborg Alien Tracker, who ultimately turns on his government masters and escapes. With Joseph in custody, McCallister gains access to the Grey technology that allows one to travel across time and space via portal. We don't know what she wants it for, but it could be to visit her late father, whose passing inspired her lifelong fascination with extra-terrestrials.

Season 4 of Resident Alien premieres on USA Network and SYFY on Friday, June 6 at 11 p.m. ET/PT. All episodes will be available to stream exclusively on Peacock one week after they air.
