Resident Alien: Becoming Alien Harry

Who’s your daddy? Stephen Root, apparently.

How to Watch

Resident Alien Season 4 will air on USA Network.

The veteran character actor known for NewsRadio, Office Space, Get Out, several collaborations with the Coen brothers, and literally dozens of other projects will appear in Season 4 of Resident Alien as the father of extra-terrestrial in disguise, Harry Vanderspeigle (Alan Tudyk). This casting marks a reunion for Root and the series lead after the two actors previously appeared together in the 2004 sports comedy, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, alongside Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn.

According to Variety, which was first to break the news, Root is set to play the human form assumed by Harry's dad, though the cosmic patriarch from beyond the stars isn't looking for some warm and fuzzy family reunion. No, he wants our main character "to go back to his evil alien roots." Let's not forget: Harry first came to Earth to wipe out humanity before discovering the siren call of pizza and that pesky emotion known as love.

Following a three-season run on SYFY, the hit show will move to USA Network for its next installment.

When does Season 4 of Resident Alien premiere?

USA Network has yet to announce a premiere date for Resident Alien Season 4. However, we do have an official synopsis:

"The fourth season starts with Harry (Tudyk) and his baby Bridget stuck in prison on the Grey Moonbase, while a shape-shifting Alien called a Mantid (also Tudyk) has taken over his body on Earth passing himself off as the real Harry Vanderspeigle. Harry manages to escape the Greys and arrives back on Earth for a showdown with the Mantid Alien but soon finds he may not have what he needs to finish the job. Asta (Sara Tomko) and D’arcy (Alice Wetterlund) struggle to keep a secret from Ben (Levi Fiehler) and Kate (Meredith Garretson), who are both desperate to find answers to what has been happening to them. Sheriff Mike (Corey Reynolds) and Deputy Liv (Elizabeth Bowen) attempt to solve some mysterious deaths in Patience that Sheriff Mike is beginning to think aren’t caused by anything human."

Asta Twelvetrees and Harry Vanderspeigle look at a man holding out a book on Resident Alien Episode 308.

Family Guy veteran Chris Sheridan created and showruns the project, which is based on the Dark Horse-published comic book series of the same name by writer Peter Hogan and artist Steve Parkhouse. Speaking of which, USA Insider was first to report the news of a brand-new Resident Alien comic — arriving on shelves this summer.

The first three seasons of Resident Alien (which hold a near-perfect score on 97% on Rotten Tomatoes) are now streaming on Peacock.
