It appears that Seth “Freakin’” Rollins has finally gotten revenge on rival Cody Rhodes.

On WWE’s Monday Night Raw, Rollins cheated Rhodes out of his shot for the United States Championship, interfering during Rhodes' bout with current titleholder Theory.

It was evident Rhodes was on a mission and he nearly delivered. While Theory narrowly avoided a pin and began to turn the tables on "The American Nightmare," Rhodes delivered a crushing Cody Cutter and looked poised to seal the championship victory. Enter Seth Rollins, who ambushed Rhodes just as he was getting set to pin Theory and unleashed a vicious attack.

After kicking Rhodes out of the ring and pummeling him with a barrage of punches, Rollins began slamming his head into the commentary table. The final blow came with Rollins standing atop the table, delivering a jumping stomp on Rhodes' head.

"You’re not going to take anything from me! Never again, never again!” an unhinged Rollins shouted at Rhodes.

The two have been feuding, and Rollins has been fuming, ever since Rhodes defeated Rollins at last month's WrestleMania. In the ensuing weeks, Rhodes has continually gotten the better of each confrontation, beating Rollins' pal Kevin Owens, whom he'd handpicked to exact a little vicarious retribution, on April 19. And just last week, Rhodes crashed Rollins' self-appointed "appreciation night," proclaiming the man "delusional" (and taking shots at his fashion sense.)

The only way for Rollins to save face was to hit Rhodes where it hurts most, insulting the memory of his father, WWE legend Dusty Rhodes, which undoubtedly just served as more inspiration for "The American Nightmare," ahead of their rematch Sunday night at WrestleMania Backlash. Of course, Rhodes won again.

So now that Rollins has cost Rhodes the United States Championship (Rhodes won, but only on a disqualification, meaning Theory retains his title), has his thirst for vengeance been quenched? Or perhaps will Rhodes now become the vengeful one?
