Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan’s heated rivalry came to a boiling point last night at Extreme Rules, but it ended with the crowning of a new SmackDown Women’s Champion in Rousey. While Rousey captured her third Women’s Championship last night, the feud between Morgan and the former UFC Bantamweight Champion seems far from over.

The two Superstars destroyed each other last night, throwing everything at one another including tables, chairs, and even a baseball bat. After the brutal match, SmackDown correspondent Megan Morant searched backstage for Morgan, but couldn’t find her anywhere. Finally, she located the distraught former champ hiding in a dark corner. She simply asked Liv, “Are you OK?”

Morgan stared blankly into the camera before her expression turned angry. She said nothing before Morant and the camera let her be as she clearly wasn’t in any mood to talk. WWE.com posted the exclusive video and titled it “Liv Morgan is in a dark place” and we can’t blame her after suffering the heartbreaking loss of her first championship.

There’s something special about Morgan and Rousey’s rivalry as it’s a true underdog story. Although Morgan has been in the WWE longer than Rousey, Rousey is one of the most decorated mixed martial artists in history. Morgan has only recently tapped into her success after vastly improving her in-ring skills and then winning the Money in the Bank briefcase last Summer. Despite all that, Morgan and Rousey seemed well matched in all four of their bouts, one of which ended controversially, one via a cash-in, and one being last night’s No Disqualifications fight.

Because none of their matches have been clean or traditional, we would be thrilled to see a rematch between Ronda and Morgan as their chemistry and personal rivalry has translated to a compelling story on screen. In the meantime, you can catch all the previous Rousey vs Morgan matches on the WWE Network on Peacock!
