Who’s Who On 'Indian Matchmaking'? Meet The Cast — And Find Out Where They Are Now

We love watching "Indian Matchmaking" because we get to meet Sima Taparia's clients, who are all on a hunt for love.

Is there anything better than a fun, unique romance show? Just watch one episode of "Temptation Island," a USA Network show about couples testing their relationship by living with sexy singles, and you'll be in agreement that no, there really isn't.

One show that recently captured our attention is "Indian Matchmaking," a Netflix reality series featuring matchmaker Sima Taparia, who tries to find people the perfect partner. The show tracks those attempts, as well as the way some of her clients find love on their own terms. But who's who on the dating show? Here's a rundown of the Season 1 and Season 2 cast, as well as where they are now.

Sima Taparia, Seasons 1 and 2

Mumbai-based matchmaker, Sima Taparia of INDIAN MATCHMAKING

Sima is the star of the show's two seasons, a Mumbai-based matchmaker who always does her best to help her clients find love. Sima regularly doles out advice, words of wisdom, and compassion.

Sima's most consistent reminder for her clients? Make sure to compromise. The ideal person doesn't exist.

Aparna Shewakramani, Seasons 1 and 2

Aparna is an attorney in Houston, Texas looking for love in her 30s. After she and Sima clashed in Season 1, she went on her own journey for love in Season 2.

"Sima and I did have a breakup, and it was about where our values didn't align," she told "Today." "The tension was that I'm more progressive and I view partnerships as equal between a man and a woman if it's a heterosexual woman. I feel like we didn't see eye-to-eye on a lot of things that surrounded our culture. That's fine. I don't think everyone has to have my views and I don't think everyone needs to have her views. It was just a very sensible break for me."

Pradhyuman Maloo, Seasons 1 and 2

Pradhyuman came onto the show when he was looking for love at age 30. A jeweler and creative director born and raised in Mumbai who loves cooking and fashion, he turned down 150 marriage proposals, according to Vogue. However, he ultimately found love with Ashima Chauhaan Maloo, whom he recently married.

Nadia Christina Jagessar, Seasons 1 and 2

Nadia, who lives in New Jersey, has her professional life all sorted: She's an event planner who has her own company, Euphoria Events. During her first stint on the show, she ultimately connected with a man named Shekhar Jayaraman, but in Season 2, she decided against pursuing things with him further after she fell for Vishal, someone seven years younger than her — a match Sima did not support. Vishal ended up breaking up with Nadia and she is currently single.

Vyasar Ganesan, Season 1

Vyasar, a college counselor at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy of Austin, fell for a woman named Rashi Gupta while on the show's first season, but the relationship fizzled soon after, with Vyasar noting they both needed to grow more to have a real shot at romance. These days, he's actually dating a woman who slid into his DMs after seeing him on the show, he told NBC News.

Akshay Jakhete, Season 1

A shy businessman from Mumbai, Akshay struggled to find the right match amid family pressure. He was betrothed to Radhika Somani by the end of Season 1, though the relationship did not last — Akshay revealed during the reunion he realized they were not compatible and couldn't even have a real conversation together.

Ankita Bansal, Season 1

Ankita, who runs an e-commerce business and lives in Delhi, India, revealed in Season 1 she was struggling with confidence on her journey to find a partner. After she was unhappy with a date Sima paired her with, Sima realized she would be better served by meeting with a psychologist named Dr. Varkha Chulani and embark on a self-love journey, allowing Ankita to end Season 1 in a better spot. These days, she's happily single and her business is doing better than ever.

Rupam Kaur, Season 1

Unlike the other people on the cast of "Indian Matchmaking," Rupam Kaur had already been married before, although the relationship had ended in divorce. Living in Denver, Colorado and the mother of a young daughter, Rupam turned to Sima for help finding a second husband, while acknowledging divorce holds a stigma in the community.

It wasn't Sima who helped her find love in the end, though: Rupam found her match on Bumble. She married Nitin Singh, a man who was also divorced in the past and had a child from that relationship, in September 2020. In July 2021, the happy couple had a baby boy together.

Viral Joshi, Season 2

Viral, who lives in North Carolina, was determined to meet someone who would respect her — and who would meet her lengthy list of criteria in a partner. Sima set her up with Aashay Shah, a doctor living in New York City, and the pair quickly fell for one another. The two are still together to this day, and she told Urban Asian their love story will continue to be shared in Season 3.

Arshneel Kochar, Season 2

Arshneel, a Cleveland-based cardiologist, turned to Sima when he decided to take a break from focusing on his career to consider the matter of love. After an unsuccessful date, Sima introduced him to Chicago-based dentist Rinkle Goyal, and the season ended on a promising note for the two.

Shital Patel, Season 2

With her 40th birthday looming, Shital was feeling pressure to find a husband, especially after her younger sister got married before her. So, she turned to Sima for help. Ultimately, Sima connected Shital with a radiation oncologist named Niraj Mehta. The two instantly fell for each other, although they're still navigating the hurdles of a long-distance relationship — Shital lives in New York City and Niraj is in Miami.

Vinesh Vasnani

Vinesh came to Sima with a long list of musts for a partner — “5’8”, family-oriented, ambitious, equally extroverted as introverted, and would have to get along with my dog," was how he described his dream woman — and after a series of unsuccessful dates, Vinesh left the season still single. However, he seems to be doing just fine having fun in Miami with his beloved dog.
