Since Cody Rhodes returned to WWE in 2022, he's had two priorities: "finishing the story" by winning the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, and reminding the WWE Universe day after day that he can carry the company on his back both inside and outside the ring.

How to Watch

Watch Monday Night RAW every Monday evening at 8/7c on USA Network. Stream more exciting WWE series on Peacock.

While Cody has proven his worth to the WWE Universe with his rivalries with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns and his current feud with Brock Lesnar, he'll never pass up an opportunity to impress fans with his work ethic outside the ring. Cody showed why he's the unparalleled fan-favorite in WWE at the moment on social media with a recent interaction with a fan. But, before we get to that, some backstory is in order.

A Father's Day Mix-Up

On June 13, a member of the WWE Universe named Dustin took to Twitter to express the heartbreak he and his son had just experienced.

After purchasing tickets to a WWE live event in Charleston, South Carolina, as a Father's Day gift for him and his five-year-old son, Dustin was distraught when Cody Rhodes published his personal live event appearance schedule, revealing Charleston wasn't part of the plan. To make matters worse, Dustin had purchased seats along the aisle where WWE Superstars would make their ring entrances – the plan was for his son to have an up-close-and-personal view of their favorite wrestler and perhaps become the lucky young fan to be the recipient of Rhodes' trademark weightlifting belt.

Alas, when Dustin realized Rhodes would not be appearing, he decided to sell his tickets and make other arrangements.

(We all know where this story is going, right?)

Seemingly on cue, Rhodes announced he was actually going to be appearing in Charleston after all! So, as any good father would do, Dustin frantically tried to find new tickets to the event but to no avail. Left with no recourse, he took to Twitter in hopes that his son's hero would notice his unlucky circumstances. It was a long shot, but in Dustin's mind, if Cody saw his tweets, maybe Father's Day could be saved.

Not that there was any doubt that Cody Rhodes cares about his fans deeply, but with one tweet, The American Nightmare managed to turn a Father's Day mix-up into a holiday that Dustin and his son would never forget:

In response, Rhodes said what is probably the most satisfying thing Dustin could have heard.

"Tickets are on me, check your DMs, can't wait to see you," the Superstar's response read.

In the blink of an eye, Cody turned one unfortunate situation into an unforgettable online interaction. Now, Dustin and his son will be enjoying Father's Day in style as VIP guests of Cody Rhodes. It's every fan's dream, and we couldn't be happier for the family!

It's just another reminder that WWE is arguably the most fan-friendly organization on the planet. Due to the nature of what WWE Superstars do, interacting with your favorite wrestlers and personalities is just a few clicks away on social media. Superstars like Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, and Sami Zayn have already proven to be the opposite of shy when interacting with their fans. Still, with gestures like this, Rhodes stands alone in his generosity and care.

Cody Rhodes Has Always Had a Special Relationship With His Fans

USA Insider reached out to Dustin for comment ahead of the Charleston show on June 18, unsurprisingly, the father spoke highly of Cody's generosity.

"Cody truly seems to connect with fans and his family has a legacy of connecting with fans over a few decades now," Dustin said. "This incredible gesture shows that he sees and connects with individual fans and tries to inspire people on a person-by-person basis. That's not very common anymore and really sets him apart from the majority of the roster."

Of course, we'll keep everyone updated on this feel-good story as much as possible. We can't wait to hear from Dustin next week about how the event went! As for Cody, while he made a family's dream come true, he has other things on his mind – namely, his highly-anticipated match against Dominik Mysterio at Money in the Bank 2023! And, of course, the WWE Universe is still waiting to see if Cody and Brock Lesnar will ever meet in the ring for round three of their thrilling rivalry as Cody continues his march toward a world championship.

It seems like Cody is going to have quite a busy summer!

You can tune in to Peacock to watch WWE's Money in the Bank on July 1. In the meantime, catch up on all things WWE Universe on Peacock as well.
