Talk about huge news to energize this Thursday afternoon!

Earlier today, WWE announced its intent to launch NXT Europe in 2023, a move that will expand the brand’s reach internationally.

“Following the success of our live events and talent identification efforts throughout all of Europe, we believe this is the perfect time to expand NXT beyond the UK,” said Shawn Michaels, WWE Vice President of Talent Development Creative.

Obviously, this has huge ramifications; there is undoubtedly tons of untapped talent across Europe who would love to make an impact in NXT Europe. The WWE Universe having access to watch these future Superstars perform under the NXT banner is a win-win for all: the athletes themselves and the fans.

NXT Europe will “reimagine the brand and its talent pipeline with a Pan European focus,” WWE’s press release said.

While this is undoubtedly major news, savvy members of the WWE Universe may recall Triple H tipping his hand about the potential of this undertaking about four years ago.

Back in 2018 at WWE’s annual Business Partner Summit, Triple H revealed his vision for the eventual expansion of NXT around the world, calling it “local globalization.”

Speaking openly, he said he envisioned “NXT-style promotions, not just for fans in Europe, or the Middle East, but also India, South America, and more. It’s the same grassroots territory feeder system that existed before — except now, not on a national level but on a global level. And all under the WWE banner.”

It seems like after four years, the first steps have been taken to make those dreams a reality, and it all starts with the creation of NXT Europe.

2023 can’t come soon enough.

In other news, in quick “blink-and-you-missed-it” fashion: In addition to announcing NXT Europe, "When World Collide" was announced for Sept. 4! The Premium Live Event will feature NXT and NXT UK Superstars mixing it up in true high-stakes fashion.

After the British invasion of NXT Heatwave on Tuesday, an event like "When Worlds Collide" is the logical next step for all parties involved.

We don’t know if it’s just the hot weather or what, but wow — it really feels like a great time to be a WWE fan these days, doesn’t it?
