British Invasion: Multiple NXT UK Superstars Crash Heatwave To Bring The Pain

It looks like some outsiders have arrived to shake things up as summer starts winding down.

After a memorable evening of captivating matches, NXT Heatwave came and went with its champions standing tall.

Not a single title changed hands last night, as Bron Breakker successfully defended the NXT Championship against JD McDonagh, Mandy Rose soundly defeated Zoey Stark for the NXT Women’s Championship, and Carmelo Hayes' reign as NXT North American Champion rolled on as he dispatched Giovanni Vinci.

Throughout the night, it proved futile for the WWE Universe to wonder “what’s next” because surprise appearances by the top stars of NXT UK made their presence known – in a huge way.

To put it mildly: It seems like NXT and NXT UK are on a collision course.

Let’s look at some of the biggest moments between these two organizations that happened last night at Heatwave.

Diamond Mine Ambushed by Gallus

It’s been no secret that the members of Diamond Mine have been going through some infighting lately. Roderick Strong’s allegiance has been called into question, threatening to pull the group apart at its seams.

Last night, Diamond Mine barely had a chance to air their grievances with one another when they were ambushed by the boys from Gallus: Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, and Wolfgang. This is one of the most dangerous crews in the United Kingdom, and the trio wasted absolutely no time in flattening Diamond Mine.

We can only assume that this is going to lead to some sort of battle for supremacy at some point, even though it seems that Gallus already has its hands full when it comes to the NXT UK Tag Team Championships.

And for the record, Roderick Strong got taken out by Gallus as well, hopefully putting to rest any rumors that he was trying to take down Diamond Mine from the inside!

Blair Davenport Makes Her Presence Known

In a backstage segment, Indi Hartwell was given a letter that we all assumed was from Dexter Lumis. Lumis has been a busy man lately, getting kicked out of "Monday Night Raw" on a weekly basis — but somehow he found the time to send Indi an illustrated love letter.

What a very sweet thing for a very strange man to do.

Nevertheless, right as that good ol’ romantic feeling began to well up in Indi Hartwell’s chest, Lumis’ letter was ripped in half by none other than Blair Davenport, who immediately introduced herself as the next NXT Women’s Champion.

How the emergence of Blair Davenport relates to the immediate future of Mandy Rose and her title is unclear, but what it does mean is that the target on the champ’s back is getting bigger and bigger with each passing day.

As her title reign reaches the historic 300-day mark, Mandy is going to have to get used to the fact that she will be called out and challenged, whether by Superstars here in NXT or abroad.

Blair Davenport — one of the most talented women on the NXT UK roster — has called her shot.

How will Mandy Rose respond?

Tyler Bate Arrives in NXT & Immediately Confronts Bron Breakker

WWE officials had barely finished scraping what was left of JD McDonagh off the mat last night — the result of three consecutive spears by Bron Breakker — before arguably NXT UK’s biggest star walked down the aisle.

Although we could’ve sworn the NXT UK Title was declared vacant and a tournament was announced to crown a new champion, Tyler Bate confidently strolled into the ring with the United Kingdom’s top championship around his shoulder.

Bronn Breaker was taken by surprise by this turn of events, to say the least.

With the swagger and sly smile that earned him the nickname of “Big Strong Boy,” Tyler Bate wasted no time in getting in the face of the NXT Champion, pointing multiple times to Breakker’s title that was just successfully defended.

It seems Tyler Bate may want a crack at Bron Breakker to try and accomplish what nobody in NXT has done yet: Take the NXT Championship away from Breakker … and keep it away.

If this matchup comes to fruition, the WWE Universe is in for a treat. Tyler Bate is one of the very best in the world, and seeing him lock horns with Bron Breakker feels like Christmas in ... August.

Wow.

Even though we thought the status quo in NXT would stay the same if every champion retained their title at Heatwave, we here at USA Insider couldn’t be more wrong.

The Superstars of NXT UK have officially invaded the Capitol Wrestling Center, and all of NXT has been put on notice.

It looks like they’re here to shake up that status quo and bring a few of NXT’s championships back across the Atlantic while they’re at it.

You can keep up to date with the whole WWE Universe on Peacock and catch NXT 2.0 Tuesday nights on USA Network.
