The Big D: Meet Divorcees Dede and Thakur
Just because they are divorced doesn't mean love isn't in their future with or without each other. Meet The Big D divorced couple Dede and Thakur.
Hosted by married couple JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers, The Big D premieres on June 14 right after the Season 5 premiere of Temptation Island.
The Big D takes divorced couples and puts them in a tropical villa where they will pursue a second chance at love by dating the other divorcees in the house. Some of the couples are looking to rekindle what they once had, while others are hoping for closure and to move on to greener pastures. One of the divorced couples Dede and Thakur revealed what destroyed their marriage after a year and a half in their video introduction.
Dede and Thakur met on an online dating app and hit it off immediately.
“It was really beautiful in the beginning, we loved each other a lot,” Thakur said in their video introduction. He further explained how as time went on, he went back to his old habits. Dede said she really wanted this to work out, but her final straw was one weekend when she discovered a box of condoms.
“I filed for divorce immediately," she said.
They have been divorced for 10 months, but Thakur is hopeful that going on The Big D will result in them getting back together. “Sometimes, I resent her for leaving, but she left for a reason. I did too much damage,” he said solemnly in the video.
The divorcees on the show won't have to decide their fate alone. They'll be joined by relationship expert Dr. Jada Jackson, who will be on hand to guide them along the way. Will her guidance be able to help this couple who are dealing with the ultimate betrayal? The show will have elimination ceremonies and a big prize of $50,000 for the couple who ends the season in a committed relationship.
Dede doesn’t seem like she is in a forgiving mood and is looking forward to a new chapter, but a tropical island and the relationship advice from Dr. Jackson could help them both see things in a different light.
