Last year during night one of WrestleMania 38, Stone Cold Steve Austin provided the WWE Universe with a moment they thought they’d never see again when he defeated Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match in the main event of the show. The 57-year-old didn’t take it easy either, with the 15-minute match and lengthy segments before and after the bout featuring hellacious bumps from both Superstars and culminating with a Stunner for the Prizefighter. The match was generally viewed positively, even though it was Austin’s first match in 19 years.

Earlier this month, rumors began running rampant on social media about Steve Austin wrestling again at next year’s WrestleMania 39 event. While The Rattlesnake didn’t directly comment on those rumors, he did post a video on his Instagram story and to his feed, both of which showed him working out at the gym and in what looks to be an RV — and he looked like he was in the best shape of his life.

Austin looked lean and muscular in the video and whether or not he is preparing for his next match or just keeping himself in shape (while sharing his regimen) is yet to be known. Regardless, fans love seeing anything Steve Austin, even if it’s just a random workout video. However, Austin’s workout video only added fuel to the fire that is his return rumors as fans clamored at the idea of seeing another Stone Cold program.

The WWE Hall of Famer formally retired in 2003 after his WrestleMania 19 match against The Rock. During the course of his career, Austin battled through a broken neck and two bad knees, but with medical advancements and almost two decades to recover, Austin may be back to end his career on his own terms as it is widely known that Austin was forced to retire before he would’ve liked to. Only time will tell if signs point to another WrestleMania match for The Rattlesnake, but the WWE Universe would surely be on board if that was the case.

You can rewatch Austin’s match from last WrestleMania on the WWE Network on Peacock!
