Seth Rollins has one of the most striking nicknames in all of WWE with his “Freakin'” moniker being one of the most popular among the WWE Universe. In addition, the power couple of Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch are navigating a complicated landscape in WWE right now as Rollins is scheduled to face Riddle inside the Fight Pit at Extreme Rules and Lynch has become a cornerstone of the RAW Women’s Championship feud. Despite that, Rollins found time to sit down with BT Sport where he talked about the status of his nickname, how his wife is truly revolutionary to the wrestling industry, and which WWE star he’d love a chance to face off against one more time.

Interviewer Ariel Helwani asked Rollins the elephant in the room: What happened to the Seth “Freakin'” Rollins nickname? The Kingslayer responded, “I don’t know if ‘freakin’ is staying or going.” He expanded, explaining that former WWE CEO Vince McMahon thought it may “turn people off.”

“That's not what we want. On commentary they can refer to you as Seth or Rollins," Seth said of McMahon's sentiment. While fans wait to see if ‘freakin’ makes a return to Seth’s name, they are also waiting to see if one former WWE star makes his long awaited return as well.

Rumors of a Bray Wyatt return have taken WWE by storm as the cryptic White Rabbit tease has captured the imagination of the WWE Universe. While these are strictly rumors, Rollins was still asked if he would like to work with The Eater of Worlds again.

“Yeah, I mean — another crack at that one might be nice. I mean, look, the Bray Wyatt character is just difficult. If you look at anybody that worked with the Bray Wyatt character for an extended period of time, they didn’t come out of it better than they went in. It was tough figuring out how to tell a good wrestling story with that character... I just wasn’t good at it. That’s one thing I was not, I was not good at the phenomenology stuff. I wasn’t able to interweave that with reality enough to make what I felt was a captivating story," he said.

Rollins continued: “I would love to have another crack at working with Windham Rotunda. He’s an incredible talent. Just a mind for the industry, and for stories and characters that’s very unique, that not a lot of people in our business — past, present, or future — that think about things on the level that he does. So I would love to have another crack at working with him, because I think we could do something extremely special, whether that’s with The Fiend character or not? Who knows. He’s a master of reinventing himself, so if he does, if our paths cross and he does find his way back here, I would definitely love to have another go ‘round. There’s certainly magic to be made there. In what capacity? I don’t know.”

While Helwani didn’t want to spend too much time on Wyatt and the return rumors, he did spend time asking Rollins about his wife, Becky Lynch, and how he feels about her latest run.

Lynch, who had her first child in 2020 with husband Seth Rollins, returned to the ring after just a 15-month hiatus when she shockingly defeated Bianca Belair in 16 seconds to reclaim the RAW Women’s Championship. Rollins talked about how he couldn’t believe how quickly she was able to return and how he’s so proud of her work ethic.

“To come back after having a child, flip the switch, turn heel, and then work with all these other girls and help them along the way and help galvanize the RAW Women’s locker room and turn it into the best female locker room in the game because of her work ethic… She was making all the live events, doing all the TV, all the pay-per-views and this is a year after having her first kid. That is unreal. I watched it all in awe every time," he said.

Rollins expanded on his point, saying he truly believes Lynch’s run and return will hold its own special place in wrestling history and that she has forever changed women’s wrestling. “That rise of a woman in pro wrestling has never existed. So she changed the game for little girls all over the world and how they can be presented in our industry which is amazing. Not her alone, but she was the standard bearer in that regard," he said.

The Architect, clearly a husband brimming with pride, ended the interview by sharing how much admiration he has for what his wife was able to do, saying, “What she has been able to do while also being a full-time mom — it’s truly incredible.”
