Now that Resident Alien has officially come to an end, creator, showrunner, and executive producer Chris Sheridan has the ability to stroll down memory lane and recall his favorite moments from the hit television show (based on the Dark Horse comic book of the same name by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse).

How to Watch

Watch Resident Alien on USA Network and Peacock.

"There's so much that I love about this series," Sheridan exclusively tells USA Insider over Zoom when asked about his top scenes, moments, episodes, and characters.

"To effectively write this show, or any show, you have to be those people," he explains. "So I had to go through the difficulties that Asta went through when she left her abusive husband. [Or] the heartbreaking speech, when Mike is telling Liv about losing his partner years ago. I had to go through the pain that D’arcy went through in trying to deal with her alcoholism. You have to sort of really be in those emotions, and it's really challenging. So I love and appreciate them all."

Head below for Sheridan's top four moments from the show's four-season run...

Resident Alien showrunner reveals his favorite moments from the show

Season 1, Episode 1: "Pilot"

"Mike and Liv beatboxing in the pilot was incredible," says Sheridan, who wrote the debut episode. "Asta and Harry standing in the snow, talking about their lives and connecting with a great circle track shot around them in the pilot was one of my favorite scenes."

Season 2, Episode 8: "Alien Dinner Party"

"It was the first time we got all the cast together shooting," Sheridan reveals. "[Since] we shot almost all of that in the cabin, we were able to sort of do it a little bit like a play. There's one scene in there, a big argument scene between Ben and Kate that D’arcy gets looped into. It took a whole day to shoot that one scene. That was a fun thing to do."

Season 2, Episode 16: "I Believe in Aliens"

Sheriff Mike Thompson (Corey Reynolds) and Deputy Liv Baker (Elizabeth Bowen) stare at a bulletin board of notes and photos on Resident Alien Episode 408.

"I loved the finale of Season 2, when we looped in the real interviews with people who had seen UFOs," admits the showrunner. "Mike Richardson from Dark Horse led it off and told his story, which was a true [account]. I loved how we were able to tell those real stories with real people, and then pull in Deputy Liv Baker. I’m not 100% sure people know that those were real people. I think they just thought they were really good actors. I wanted to do that again, or some form of it, and ran out of time. I love bringing in the reality of the fact that people really do believe in these things and reminding the audience that there's people out there like them."

Season 4, Episode 10: "The End is Here"

"We were able to work the schedule so that the very last day of filming was that finale moment at the cabin when Harry left," concludes Sheridan, who also wrote the series finale. "A lot of times on these shows, you'll shoot out Mike and Liv in the town hall, and then they go home. Then you finish a shooting for another week or so, and people are slowly leaving Canada to go home. This time, because we scheduled everything on the last day, when they're all together, everyone was there ‘til the very end. And having everyone there saying goodbye to Harry on the very last day of shooting was incredibly emotional, but cathartic and really great, because they all knew it was probably the ending as well. That was very special."
