In 2023, no one is able to predict which shows will enjoy a surge in popularity, for example, the unprecedented success in the streaming world that the USA Network original series Suits is enjoying!

Suits is a runaway success on streaming platforms in 2023 (and Peacock is the only place to exclusively stream all nine seasons).  What’s most impressive is that Suits’ finale aired back in 2019 – proving that some shows have staying power long after they go off the air.

And while it’s rare these days for Meghan Markle to be in the news for something unrelated to the never-ending family saga between her husband, Prince Harry of Wales, and the royal family, we’ll never pass up on an opportunity to report on the latest Meghan-happenings and success of one of the most beloved USA Network shows ever!

Of course, it helps that public interest in Markle – who played paralegal Rachel Zane on the hit show – is at an all-time high.

During a recent red-carpet appearance with Variety, Meghan was informed of the show’s surprising success in the streaming world in 2023. Although she confessed she couldn’t explain why the hit drama has experienced this sudden surge in popularity, Meghan didn’t point to herself as the reason – she theorized that the show’s quality had stood the test of time, and a new generation of viewers finally understand that for themselves.

“It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew,” Meghan told Variety. “We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit. But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”

The Duchess of Sussex hopes to carry on the lessons she learned from Sutis' success. As far as her and Prince Harry’s future is concerned, they have more projects to debut in the coming months. Meghan confessed she wants to produce content that hits people in all the right places.

“Things that make people feel – I was going to say ‘good,’ but it’s more than that – things that make people feel something, right?” she explained. “And feel a sense of community. But we have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it, too. It’s really fun.”

Of course, when viewers propel a show to new heights in the streaming world, it can pay off for everybody. Streaming success that comes years after a show’s original television run can sometimes mean it can return in some form or another – you only need to look at revivals like Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie as proof that anything can happen in the entertainment world! Franchises and characters long thought dormant can pop up again at a moment’s notice – all it takes is the support from fans to jumpstart the process.

In the end, Meghan had the most fitting reaction to being told about Suits’ surging popularity:

“Isn’t that wild?”

We love that even though she’s been involved in her fair share of interesting life events in recent years, she doesn’t shy away from labeling the success of Suits as “wild” – don’t ever change, Meghan.

Catch up on all nine seasons of Suits and follow Meghan Markle’s Rachel Zane from beginning to end – exclusively on Peacock.
