Although Cody and John Cena have faced off multiple times in tag team competition, they have one lone televised one-on-one match together: A memorable Monday Night RAW bout from 2010:

In 2023, the prospect of Cena lacing up his boots again to take on The American Nightmare is an intriguing one. One member of the WWE Universe asked Cody point-blank if a high-profile match with Cena was on the horizon.

"I asked John, if he does one more, to consider that match [with me]," Cody responded. "If not though, I'm blessed to have been under his learning tree and shared a ring with him in the past."

How Does Cody Rhodes Feel About Brandi?

Brandi and Cody Rhodes

Brandi Rhodes was portrayed throughout American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes as the ultimate real-life partner, standing by her husband's side through thick and thin. Brandi was there for Cody through all the ups and downs in his career – and one fan asked for Cody's candid thoughts on his wife. As it turns out, Brandi wasn't only important to Cody's career arc, she was essential.

"I do not get the chance to stand on this stage without her," Cody confessed. "Her contributions to wrestling as a whole have been special and when somebody finally writes the book on all this, I can't wait for her to get her flowers."

It takes a lot of courage for any fan to ask a living legend how they see their legacy – especially when that career isn't close to being over. In true Cody fashion, The American Nightmare tackled the issue head-on and revealed he sees himself as a pioneer. Coincidentally, just like his father viewed his own contributions to the wrestling industry.

"The one in my generation who did the absolute most at moving our game into the stratosphere of mainstream entertainment!" Cody enthusiastically replied. "A lot of the 'left turns' and big gambles I have taken were for that very purpose. The healthiest wrestling and sports entertainment have ever been is now. Let's keep going!"

One of the more eye-opening aspects of American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes was the reveal that Cody trained for his return from his pectoral injury with the future NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes. Naturally, Cody has spent more time with Carmelo than most WWE Superstars, so the question is obvious: What does he think of the face of NXT?

"Melo is him – the job requires a whole new tank," Cody replied. "So to say when [he] starts on the road, that'll be the proving ground for our friend. I think he will do very well."

One of Dusty Rhodes' most significant contributions to the wrestling industry was introducing the concept of WarGames in the days of the National Wrestling Alliance. It's a match type that has since been carried over to modern WWE. One member of the WWE Universe asked Cody who would be on his team in a classic WarGames bout!

Cody's response was simple: Besides himself, he'd want to go to war with Sting, Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, and his dad, "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes.

Interestingly enough, for a modern WarGames match, Cody admitted to wanting himself and four Kevin Owens on the team!

Who Are Cody Rhodes' Biggest Non-Wrestling Influences?

Most members of the WWE Universe know that Dusty Rhodes has undoubtedly been an ongoing influence on his persona and career. Still, Cody was specifically asked about his non-wrestling influences throughout his life.

The American Nightmare doesn't live under a rock – even he is aware of the recent meteoric rise of LA Knight. So when he was asked what he thought about the red-hot WWE Superstar, Cody had the perfect one-word response: "YEAH!"

Could this casual acknowledgment mean a potential tag team is brewing on the horizon?

Before he made his triumphant return home to WWE in 2022, Cody Rhodes frequently had to deal with adverse fan reactions in wrestling promotions around the globe. One sightful fan asked him how he'll react if the WWE Universe starts booing him before he gets to "Finish the Story."

Cody's response was simple: He slyly replied that according to social media, the adverse reaction is "going to start any day now, for the past two years."

Indeed, there has been an online sentiment that the WWE Universe will turn on The American Nightmare imminently – but it feels like Cody Rhodes' star power is overpowering any and all negativity. For anybody still on the fence about supporting Cody, we must ask: What are you waiting for? The kid is going places.
