Four Ways You Can Spread Goodwill This Holiday Season

Created by USA for Subaru

This year the best way to get into the holiday spirit is to spread goodwill in your own community, and this can be done in many different ways. Here are four ways you can make a difference this winter, while keeping the season merry and bright:

  • Think about some causes and organizations that mean a lot to you and look into volunteer opportunities with them. If you love animals, your local ASPCA would be a great place to volunteer. And if you want to work with kids, you may want to look into volunteering with Make-A-Wish. Your time spent volunteering will mean even more to you when it’s for a cause you love.

  • Donate to causes that you care about – and encourage your friends and family to do the same. You can even ask for a donation to be made to your chosen organization in lieu of gifts this holiday season. Sometimes the greatest gift is one that gives back to your community.

  • Help others in your community. Whether you’re shoveling a neighbor’s driveway or bringing someone extra meals, a little help will make a big difference in someone’s life.

  •  Be nice to people. A big smile and a warm thank you will go a long way this holiday season, and everyone will appreciate the gesture.

And just remember, as Andy Cohen says, “When you improve other’s lives, you improve your own.”
