Bianca Belair, who had been riding high as the new WWE Raw Women’s Champion after beating Becky Lynch at WrestleMania, has been duped.

On Monday’s Raw, Belair showed up carrying her title and still baring the fading shiner that Lynch gave her earlier this month. Continuing with her vow on last week’s Raw to fight against any future opponent, she beat Queen Zelina Vega quickly on Monday in a non-title match.

While the Queen did an impressive headstand submission move on Belair, the champ proved why she is indeed at the pinnacle of the sport. With the Queen applying increasing pressure on the back of her neck, Belair managed to break free and throw Zelina down.

But what appeared to be another demonstration of her agility and strength became a night of trickery at the new champ’s expense.

After the Queen Zelina match, Sonya Deville, acting in the capacity of a WWE official, came out to the ring, dressed professionally in a suit, with an open contract meant to designate Belair’s next challenger.

“I took it upon myself to find your next opponent,” she told Belair, adding that it wasn’t “an easy task.”

She listed off some possible challengers, all of whom Belair seemed ready and eager to take on. Then, as both Belair and the crowd waited to hear who the opponent would be, a drum roll began.

But, without warning, Deville attacked Belair from behind, revealing herself to be Belair’s next opponent for the title.

“Your next opponent is me,” she said.

It’s a controversial move, with Deville noting she'd be the first WWE official to answer an open challenge. After that bizarre announcement, fellow official Adam Pearce accused Deville backstage of abusing her power.

Deville didn’t seem fazed by the criticism, vowing to take the RAW Women’s title from Belair.

But Belair looks to be ready for the challenge.

“I stay ready so I don’t have to get ready, and while Sonya Deville has been wearing suits and making matches for a year, I’ve been wearing titles and making history. So, let’s do it,” Belair said after the match.
