WWE's Austin Theory & Sami Zayn Explain How They'd Fight Off Horror Movie Icons

Sometimes you have to ask WWE Superstars the tough questions that really matter during the Halloween season!

By Chris Phelan

It’s that time of the year — it’s nearly Halloween!

How to Watch

Watch Monday Night RAW every Monday evening at 8/7c on USA Network. Stream more exciting WWE series on Peacock.

October brings us many things to look forward to, including trick-or-treating, dressing up in costumes, generally eating way too much candy, and some seriously scary entertainment. Add NXT Halloween Havoc — now available to stream on Peacock — to that list and you’ve got yourself a memorable month.

With the continued success of the smash-hit USA Network and SYFY series “Chucky” and the much-anticipated wide release of "Halloween Ends" (available on Peacock and in theaters!), we here at USA Insider have been in our heads with crossover ideas. What would happen if the Superstars of WWE went face-to-face with Michael Myers? What would they do if they turned around and encountered Chucky himself?

Take Roman Reigns for example: How would you think he would fare in one of these hypothetical scenarios? Michael Myers is one of the scariest and capable horror villains of all time, but we’d imagine even he’d fall victim to multiple spears and Superman punches courtesy of the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. What if Brock Lesnar found himself in the same room as Chucky? We’ll be honest, there’d probably be no more “Chucky” episodes because the poor doll would be F5’ed to outer space, never to be seen again.

Of course, it’s fun to hypothesize these scenarios ourselves, but it’s even better to ask WWE Superstars themselves what they would do in these crazy, horror-filled situations!

Recently, we caught up with Sami Zayn and Austin Theory, and couldn’t help but ask them the really tough questions: What would they do if they were put into a dangerous situation with these famous horror villains?

“Well, you know, I’ve been in a lot of situations in my life where I didn’t react the way I thought I would react. So I feel like being face-to-face in that particular situation — if it’s Chucky or Michael Myers — I’m sure I could give a great answer right now like, ‘Oh, I’d gouge its eyes out or I’d be able to outsmart it or run away,” Zayn said before trailing off in thought for a moment.

“I could say all those things but in reality, I just don’t know. I’d probably just stand there and crap my pants," he added.

While we commend the Bloodline’s Honorary Uce for being so forthcoming and honest in his answer, Austin Theory’s response to this question was a little more practical — and brutally honest in its own right.

“I’m actually a huge horror fan,” Theory said. “And you know, if I found myself alone with Chucky, I’d just hit him in the face with the Money in the Bank briefcase. That would do the trick.”

Sounds simple enough: Big strong man smashes evil doll with metal thing. It’s definitely not the worst strategy for staying alive!

The inner child in all of us nodded along with Theory’s response to encountering Michael Myers, however, revealing that even a Superstar as cocky and arrogant as Mr. Money in the Bank still would react exactly how we all would:

“Michael Myers, though?” Theory said, clearly growing anxious. “Maybe I would hope for a ladder match with him, just so I can climb up there and stay up there and stay far away from him. Maybe I’d just hang from whatever was hanging up there; a title, the Money in the Bank briefcase. I don’t want any part of Michael Myers, man.”

And there you go. Even the biggest and brightest Superstars start to second-guess their confidence when confronted with an undead lunatic. We can’t say we blame Theory for having that particular strategy. We don’t want any part of Michael Myers either!

"Halloween Ends" is now in theaters and available to stream on Peacock. "Chucky" Season 2 airs new episodes on USA Network and SYFY on Wednesday nights at 9/8c. You can catch up on "Chucky" Season 1 on Peacock.

You can catch up on all things WWE Universe on Peacock as well.
