'Chucky' Finds An Unholy Weapon In Season 2 Trailer & Poster Ahead Of Premiere

The "MVP of serial murder" returns for Season 2 on USA Network and SYFY this October.

By Caitlin Busch

There's nothing quite like religious trauma, and Chucky is taking full unholy advantage in the second season of his self-titled series on USA Network and SYFY. In the final trailer ahead of the Oct. 5 premiere, we get the inside scoop on what our young heroes Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur), Devon Evans (Björgvin Arnarson), and Lexy Cross (Alyvia Alyn Lind) will be contending with this season, and we're not exaggerating when we say it's hellish.

How to Watch

Watch Chucky on the USA app and Peacock.

Season 2 of "Chucky" will follow the trio as they're sent to "a facility with other violent juvenile offenders," Incarnate Lord, to which they are welcomed by a stone-faced young nun. Confessionals, a booze-swilling priest, and Chucky (voiced by Brad Dourif) finding new, creative ways to use a rosary aren't all they have to look out for, though. Fans of Season 1 will recall that Chucky has split his soul across dozens of Good Guy dolls, most of which are trapped in a truck driven by his nemesis, Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), who's being held hostage by Chucky's one true love-turned-mortal-enemy, Tiffany Valentine (Jennifer Tilly). Although Tiff's in her "Bride of Chucky" form in the truck, she's quite a bit more human across the country in Los Angeles, where a part of her soul is residing in actress Jennifer Tilly. (Confusing? Yes. Hilarious and epic? Also yes.)

While Chucky terrorizes the teens using the power of religion — perhaps with the help of Devon Sawa's new priest character — Tiffany is finding new ways to terrorize her new true love, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif), who she's holding hostage in Jennifer Tilly's lavish mansion. However, these love birds aren't empty nesters for long. In the trailer, we see Tiffany gleefully greet her and Chucky's children, Glen and Glenda, whose soul is now split into two human bodies (both portrayed by Lachlan Watson). While gentle Glen is horrified at the idea of their mother being a murderer, Glenda seems amused (even thrilled, perhaps) that their mom is "a lesbian."

With our villains scattered across the country and our heroes locked away and buttoned up in their new uniforms, there's no telling what kind of trouble we'll see in Season 2. As Chucky points out to Devon in the trailer, "I'm the MVP of serial murder. I mean, I've killed more people than you have Insta followers." How many more victims will Chucky add to his body count? We'll have to wait 'til Oct. 5 to find out.

Key art for Chucky Season 2

"Chucky" is a continuation of the iconic film franchise chronicling the murderous escapades of the notorious killer doll. In the TV series, Chucky crosses paths with archenemies, old allies, and new prey, as he seeks to inspire fear and mayhem wherever he goes. After his diabolical plan to invade America’s children’s hospitals was foiled in Season 1, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he holds responsible: surviving teens Jake, Devon, and Lexy, along with his ex Tiffany, now his sworn enemy. Meanwhile, can “Jevon” make it as a couple in the face of adversity at their new Catholic school, not to mention a brand-new onslaught of terror from the demon doll?

The series is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, and executive produced by Don Mancini, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, David Kirschner, and Jeff Renfroe.

"Chucky" Season 2 premieres on USA Network and SYFY on Oct. 5 at 9/8c. You can catch up on "Chucky" Season 1 on Peacock.
