A native of Germany, Gabrielle Scharnitzky’s first role was in 1985 in Arthur Penn’s film “Target.” She appeared in several international feature films, including “Mesmer” opposite Alan Rickman; Catherine Hardwicke’s “The Nativity Story” opposite Oscar Isaac and Keisha Castle-Hughes; Oscar Roehler’s “Punk Berlin 1982” opposite Tom Schilling; and Italian films including “Un Matrimonio Da Favola” and “Fast Souls.”

On television, Scharnitzky appeared in BBC’s “The Game” and in “Bonekickers” opposite Hugh Bonneville and Julie Graham; as well as in German series including two seasons of “That’s Life,” also known as “Verliebt in Berlin,” which won a German Television Award and a Rose d’Or. She will also appear in the upcoming series “Devils” opposite Patrick Dempsey.

Scharnitzky is fluent in German, Italian and English. She has studied internationally with acting coaches such as Susan Batson, Geraldine Baron, Uta Hagen, Diane Kagan and Sam Christensen. In 1999, she founded her own acting studio, Actors Lodge Berlin.
