Biden says US will defend Taiwan militarily if China were to invade

During his first trip to Asia since taking office, President Biden said the U.S. would be willing to intervene militarily if China were to invade Taiwan, breaking with a longstanding policy of “strategic ambiguity.” The White House quickly clarified the President’s comments, saying its existing position has not changed. NBC’s Peter Alexander reports for TODAY from Tokyo.
