This morning, Carrie Coon was nominated for a prestigious Critics’ Choice Award for her work on USA Network’s hit thriller, The Sinner! She is up for "Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television," alongside Amy Adams (Sharp Objects, HBO), Patricia Arquette (Escape at Dannemora, Showtime), Connie Britton (Dirty John, Bravo), Laura Dern (The Tale, HBO), and Anna Deavere Smith (Notes From the Field, HBO).
In season two of The Sinner, Coon plays Vera Walker -- a mysterious figure whose devotion to a cult-like community raises suspicions. The A.V. Club’s Alex McLevy called the performance “a wonderful fusion of frazzled humanism and sinister duplicity.”
The Sinner season two -– which again features Bill Pullman as Det. Harry Ambrose, but stands as its own story -– has received universal critical praise, with a Certified Fresh score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. In September, the series was nominated for “Most Bingeworthy Show of 2018” by the People’s Choice Awards.
The 24th annual Critics’ Choice Awards will air live on the CW Sunday, January 13th from 7 to 10 PM. Want to judge Coon’s powerhouse performance for yourself? You’re in luck –- the first three episodes of The Sinner are available to stream on USANetwork.com RIGHT NOW!
