When The Sinner returns to USA this August for its second installment, expect some new faces, including just-announced series regulars Carrie Coon, Natalie Paul, and Hannah Gross!
Emmy- and Tony-nominated actress Carrie Coon (Avengers: Infinity War, Gone Girl, The Leftovers, Fargo) is set to play Vera, a formidable, mysterious woman who struggles between upholding the ideals of the community she leads and fulfilling her own desires.
Natalie Paul (The Deuce, Luke Cage, Show Me a Hero) will play Heather, a detective in training from Det. Harry Ambrose’s hometown. She ends up calling Ambrose (Bill Pullman) to consult on a double homicide by a boy with no clear motive.
Hannah Gross (Mindhunter) also joins the cast of The Sinner this year. She will play Marin, Heather’s high school best friend who disappeared from town years ago in a cloud of mystery.
Jessica Biel, who starred as Cora Tannetti in 2017, will executive produce the second installment of The Sinner, alongside her producing partner Michelle Purple through their company Iron Ocean, and Charlie Gogolak and Brad Winters will also serve as executive producers this year. From Universal Cable Productions (UCP), the second, eight-episode series will once again feature Derek Simonds as executive producer and showrunner, and Antonio Campos -- who directed the first three episodes in 2017 -- will return this year to direct and executive produce the first two episodes.
Critically acclaimed with a score of 94% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, The Sinner debuted strong last August, and continued to gain momentum week over week in the ratings. The limited series ended its run on the top, with the Sept. 20 finale achieving season highs, ranking overall as the #1 new cable series of 2017, having averaged 3.848 million total viewers.
