Robert Downey Jr. is an Oscar-nominated actor best known for portraying Iron Man. He started out as a member of the Brat Pack, starring in 1985's Weird Science and 1987's The Pick-up Artist, before garnering critical acclaim for 1992's Chaplin, including an Oscar nomination. In 2000, Downey Jr. joined the cast of Ally McBeal, scoring Golden Globe and Emmy nominations. On the big screen, he went on to star in 2005's Good Night, and Good Luck and 2007's Zodiac before becoming Iron Man in 2008. Downey Jr.'s other well-known films include Tropic Thunder and Sherlock Holmes. He reprised the role of Iron Man for the fifth time in Captain America: Civil War. More recently, Downey Jr. has also starred as Tony Stark in the Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. In addition, his new film, Dolittle, releases January 17.
